The Appalacian Trail...
I'll be doing some soul searching within the next couple of months. I'm hitting the AT.
The passing of my friend has done something to me. I don't know what, but these days, I don't feel like I have time to hesitate on anything.
So I'm going on the trail. I expect to come back a bit differently, to be more "me" or to have more initiative than before. This is but a giant little step of actually doing something. I'm turning my back on the grind, I'm doing what I can to really get away from monotony and what is "safe".
I've lived my last 24 years as one who saved and planned for tomorrow as if tomorrow was promised.
So, the plans are:
Do the AT for a couple of months
Negotiate a photoshoot with my sister through reliable sources
Move to New York
Be in love, as I am right now.
I have love, I have support, and I have momentum.
I will still be on G.net for a bit of a week, trolling and being that irresistible Kontan that so many of you have come to know.
I'll be doing the northern HALF of the AT.
You guys are great. A decent, creative bunch of people.
Don't hesitate.

Well, obviously I'll need better details than that. But sure, we could always go with more peeps.

Your life plan seems identical to my friend, Jared's. He, also, plans on moving to New York after hiking the Appalacian Trail, starting at a point 3 minutes from my house. Let me know when you're coming through eastern PA. :]

I don't outgrow. I just feel I get better with age.
You guys make awesome .net friends. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet a few of you. I don't know how far I'll make it on the trail. I'm really going more for a window of time and not a distance. So it could be the whole thing or just a third. It depends.

Awesome. I was just thinking of something similar just moments ago.
You'll enjoy it. Barely a couple of days into your journey you'll see an increase in the impact of your dreams, greater context, and more vividness.

May it go well.
I will not offer any other hopes than this, for promises of this or that are rarely met by a physical journey and the spiritual journey's results cannot be predicted.
But may it go well. I hope we will not lose you, or at least that we might keep in touch. You're one of the more interesting members of this site.

Take care, man. Kudos for making the decision to go for it. I hope you find what you need to find.

I hope you have a great time on the AT, I have a friend who is currently somewhere on near the southern end of it (every now and then he pops of the trail and into a nearby town to post in a blog about his trip so we have an idea where he is). On a somewhat related note: apparently my university offers a course that preps you to walk the AT and teaches you about the native wildlife (I think it is considered an ecology course).

Good luck mate.
May your boots be strong and your pants even stronger. You'll need them.

And may the boots stay dry. Soaking boots are horrible to wear. I have no what the Appalacian Trail is like though.
Have fun

Good Luck Kontan. And remember: each pair of underwear lasts two weeks. One week right-side out, one week inside-out
Have fun. I hope your hopes are realized.
