So I've got a theory about how when we die it will be much more like waking up out of a dream, I think it's kind of going to feel like walking through the mirror and realizing that everything on this side was just the reflection of Reality (reflections are NEVER exact and they are ALWAYS flawed, btw). Hmm...

The 'soul' is a very nice poetic concept, and I do use it in a figurative sense quite frequently. But whatever soul there is in us dies when our brains do. I'll enjoy my soul while I'm alive, thanks.

Personally I feel more free and alive than I did when I feared for my immortal soul.

I just believe that while no permanent self will live on, its not like my life meant nothing and nothing goes forward. Perhaps my matter and energy will go towards other beings, perhaps the actions I made in this life will change everything even if in a really small subtle way. I'll be a completely different person by the time I'm fifty, so why worry about being the same person when I'm dead?

And you're ok with it, because you've given up. You've given up on life where others marvel at it and smile when they think of its vastness. To you the infinity of this one and only life is a false 'reflection of Reality,' a reality that you by definition cannot know and that I know is not there because of that. But you can't realize that, because you simply declare this life to be empty, which can only happen because of your own failures, and would rather fantasize of a vague undeserved improvement of reality not brought forth by your own actions, but merely because of the arbitrary action of ceasing to be in this marvelous world you claim to be imperfect.

A hypothesis is an educated guess based on empirical data. Belief in a soul is not a hypothesis. A theory can be defined as an unproven assumption, which would include her belief in souls.
