depends on whether that's paul the apostle, paul mc cartney or paul down the street - that guy who stares out his window and waves whenever you walk by.

so, it would seem, in the grand scheme of things, everyone has a concept of the enormity of both god and jesus. the final, defining factor concerning who takes the all-powerful cake of hugeness belongs to "paul" and exactly who "paul" is. being there is a lack of consensus on exactly which "paul" is in the running, i think it's fair to say the CONCEPT of "paul" has eclipsed the question of whether or not there is a god. to take that a step further, the CONCEPT of "paul" has inexplicably overridden the philosophical debate of god and jesus, thereby knocking both entities from the ballot. to wit - "paul" wins as the greater entity merely because "he" blasted both god and jesus from the platform from "his" moment of introduction.
thank you, your honor. and good night.

Wow, I always love how I jump into conversations. Anyways, I find that there is nothing wrong with believing in god or many gods. I don't believe in any dieties but if the belief in such a being gives you happiness and you're not hurting anyone then feel free to worship whoever you damn well please. Ok, that was my two cents.

I think that the reason so many arguments for the existence of a god/gods are Judeo-Christian centered is because Christianity is either the most popular or the second most popular religion on the planet. I mean, u can't exactly argue from a point of view which u know nothing about, can u? 8)

Onnix-I'd respond to your statement, but I'm confused as to what the hell you mean.

i believe in all the good and evil "balance" junk, but I think that if god exists then he has forgotten about this earth ages ago. And also, I don't think that there is a complete "good" or complete "evil" but only the stuff that's in between, which is much more dangerous. If god exists, than so does satan, but how do we know that they are opposites because one is good and the other bad. Is any one of them good? Or is god "made" good only to give people hope?

Actually, God dropped by my place this morning for a hearty breakfast of beer and a joint, and I asked It/her/him about this thread, an' It/s/he said:
-Fuck you guys, you eat from the tree of knowledge and then you wanna blame me for all the shit you pull. Whether or not you wanted it, you got free will, now deal with it and own up to your responsibilities and actions in this world and THEN, MAYBE you can come and talk to me about that shit.
Then it/s/he burped and told me to pass the blunt saying:
-You always talk shit when you're stoned, you notice that?
Later kids

now THAT'S a god i'd pay homage to. a beer swilling, blunt smoking realist who doesn't have time for whiny-assed pussies masquerading as a self-proclaimed independant people.
you tell 'em, god.

I'm more a Deist myself.
So my God is kicking abck with a beer and watching the world like your average Packers fan watches a game. He's interrested in what's going on, but he's not going to help very much.

I think not, but if he does and for some reason i am wrong, isn't he supposed to be the all forgiving. If he is there he put my ideas into my head supposedly, so it is his fault I don't believe in him to begin with. Is there some major error inmy way of thinking?

Why should s/he forgive you? Whatever you do doesn't affect God. It affects you.

Who says God puts ideas into your head?
How about I tell you I'm God? 'Cause if putting ideas into your head is all it takes, then I can make you believe anything.
YOU ALONE put ideas into your own head and no one else.
