An Italian singer wrote this song with gibberish to sound like English. If you've ever wondered what other people think Americans sound like, this might be an approximation.

That's hillarious! Reminds of people who love to sing along to Rammstein and have no idea that the song they're singing to actually means "Hermaphrodite" in English.

I have recently had cause to remind myself that Withnail & I is one of the best movies ever made.

David Tennant (my favorite Doctor Who) had landed the title role in an American series on NBC called "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer", but the show never got picked up. Rex is a very successful lawyer who becomes incapable of appearing in court because of severe panic attacks. Instead of letting his skills go to waste, he coaches his clients to represent themselves. More info here: http://bit.ly/der66Y

Anyway, here's a YouTube clip showing about 1.5 minutes of the un-aired pilot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4cqR...layer_embedded

Too bad it never got picked up. It actually seems like a good premise and they had a talented cast lined up. Still, it's hard for me to get around that accent.

On August 1, the Pacific Sun ran into a heavy storm 400 miles north of New Zealand, hitting 25-foot-tall waves and 50-knot winds. Its 1732 passengers weren't prepared to endure the madness that ensued.

The video seems like a slapstick comedy until you see people smacking against columns and walls. However, they were lucky: After returning to Auckland from its eight-night trip to the Vanuatu islands, only 42 passengers were injured.

One of the passengers said: "It was like being in a disaster movie. There were screams and people crying as they looked for their lost children."

http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/e86df932

To me it seems all the more terrifying because there's no sound.

It's not from the same cruise, but this video shows how the above may have looked from the outside:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deX7R...layer_embedded

So I'm rethinking that goal of someday taking a barefoot cruise ... just a little.
