Diet Ideas.

Ok so recently I made a post. I can say I got burned for it royally. It has been brought to my attention that I'm out of shape for my age, 19. I weight exactly 231 lbs. I found that out when I went to the doctor. Surprisingly I lost weight. I came from 240. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/...=1245643423100 This is me at the 231. srry I did not take a pic for the 240. But I was wondering if any one had any good Diet tips. I've been online all night looking for some that will fit my crazy life.

Hard work, lots of excercise and consuming less kj than you spend.
I know it's a bitchy sell. I still haven't been able to do it completely. I am slowly slipping into it.
But believing all of these "do this to lose that weight" diets are worth crap.
I tried them. They aren't shit easier than any other diet.
There is really only one way to do it.
The first thing to do is really to set your mind to it. It's mostly in your mind.
If you WANT to lose weight but haven't set your mind to it, you are sure to fail.

Yeah. I mean, I've tried to loose weight before. My Doc said it would effect my knees if I didn't. I lost some of the weight, but of course my knees still suck. Now my parents are on this like work out routine. I'm trying to get on it with them. But it's hard. But what I really need to do is stop making excuses and just do the damn thing.

Aye. Tougher than it sounds, eh?
I am getting a scooter this month, so I am gonna start the gym every day then instead of once or twice a week. That's bound to help as soon ase I stop eating like a pig :p

Get your thyroid levels checked.
Go for walks every day.
Eat small meals frequently throughout the day. Ideally, every three hours.
Limit carbs, look into sprouted grains. No white bread. No HFCS. Limit sugar intake. Up veg intake. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Not tea, not juice, plain water.
That'll do it.

Also, there are some new protein bars out there, they hold only about 100kj but they will fill you up nicely. I have been thinking about trying those out to limit my eating habits.

Why don't you focus on being healthy before you entertain the idea of doing a marathon?

don't think that way. if u don't like something about ur self, change it. it is do-able. I'm so going to use this thread as motivation now. U should do the same. I'm setting up a schedule now for working out. I so serious about getting this fat off me. it is like carrying around a little person on my back.

Yeah, I see your point. I'm almost there with a healthy diet actually. I just have a problem when I get bored at night. That's when I eat.

Maple-flavored almond butter = pwnage.

I'm redirecting this thread. It's now about "delicious, fattening foods".
READY, SET, GO.

I bake these wicked cranberry orange scones, and serve them with homemade whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and a demitasse of espresso.

I'm glad that you are trying to keep motivated and having a specific goal is a good way to do that but training for a marathon takes a lot of time, even if you are in good shape. You also have to be really careful that you don't push your body too hard or else you can cause some serious damage. It might be a more reasonable goal to be able to run a solid mile by the time the marathon comes around and try to add an additional mile every month so that you can run the marathon next year (assuming it is a half marathon as you said it was short, for a full marathon you would need to either up the training schedule or train for another year since a marathon is 26 miles).
