I Hate Myspace

MYSPACE equates to a blind arrogance whereby the individual feels in accordance with their narcissism an overwhelming self importance that is unwarranted; from this cesspool of mediocrities stems the rotten edifice of the banal, in which a million morons can upload an endless pool of amateur stage-managed photographs of themselves for the benefit of other morons.

Some may argue that myspace allows for an easier and more worthwhile method of obtaining "friends", based on the fact that one can quite readily find other individuals with similar "tastes" and "interests" as themselves and in a fraction of the time. However such methods lack any organic value, and are more akin to a shabby dating agency that purely organizes relationships based on data alone. The natural human joy of going out into the wider world, with all the fears and the excitement of the unknown has been systematically replaced by a technological Marxism of "historical certainties", where individuals are more likely to exchange myspace details than phone numbers as a result (since it is easier for people today to communicate in digitalized text than with the traditional oral method).

I cannot get a myspace account for I would be a hypocrite if I did so; simply looking at the awkwardly composed individual photographs fills me with hysterics and horror, where each individual myspace victim has succumbed to that towering need; that they must obtain the "right angle" and the "right expression" in order to fulfil the illusion alongside millions with them, that others like them may post adoring comments of an uncritical nature on their behalf.

However I know I'd do exactly the same thing if placed in the same position.

Therefore no myspace account for me

My thoughts exactly Sir Helpmann, Myspace is for people who don't quite know how to approach "strangers" in a more humane setting, i.e, bar, pub, heck, even a park bench fer chrissakes....A further indication of man's DEGENERATION into a soulless machine...

Honestly, all this "going out in the wider world" shit is over-rated - why? Because the "real world" isn't any better. It's shitty and boring. That's why so many people avoid it these days.

Bars and pubs have more to do with being a "soulless machine" than myspace ever does. They pigeon hole socialising into a certain setting and revolve it around the wonders of poisoning yourself to half-sleep.

It annoys me no end when people sing the praises of "real life". I've done it. It sucks. I'm never going to meet someone with my musical interests down my local bar. It's pointless. I'd end up meeting people I ironically have a rather meaningless soulless relationship with. Unless you live near a scene, which most people don't, the only way to find people with common interests is online.

Also, myspace is pretty poor for that since you can only browse by location OR search for interests.

And why is it that people act like people with bad social skills are lazy or bad people? I'll never understand this.

If you want to know why mankind is such "soulless machine", you may have to look no further than the emptiness of your own opinion
