As for Sid and Nancy, I have never seen it.

Actually, I don't like any of the films you named, SKot >_>
Even with the Danny Elfman soundtracks? I know you had to like that part at least.

If you liked them as a kid, I can't see why you wouldn't like them now. They're not really a "dumbed down for kids" kind of film, and there's just as much there for adults to enjoy.

Eh... to each their own, I suppose. Just make sure you're not disliking them JUST because they're popular, because that would be wrong.

How about Mirrormask?

Trendy things are a real turn off to me, especially if they're trendy with a crowd I rather dislike. I don't mind Nightmare Before Christmas, but no longer do I even bother with it because the mass of Hot Topic trend whores.

Never heard of Mirrormask.

Do you mean you don't bother wearing Jack Skellington gear, or you don't bother watching it, or what?

Trendiness bothers me, too, but I don't see why I should give up things I like because they've suddenly become trendy. People will lose interest if it's a trend, anyway.

That is good advice to go by, like SKot is saying as well. I think it's a tragedy that The Nightmare Before Christmas is being popularized by people of... that crowd, but I wouldn't stop liking anything because it became trendy. It doesn't just become "off limits" when others start wearing the shirts. You like it because you do or don't, and that's reason enough.

Now, if you're looking for movies worth seeing, I'd recommend Constantine, Rat Race, Liar Liar and Scrooged. They're not exactly related to each other, but they're near the top of my list. Bands... I imagine you'd like Death in June. And of course I must recommend London After Midnight as well.

God, I hated that movie...

It's probably not a hard movie to hate. Still, the senselessness pleases me.

I mean that I choose not to watch the movie.
Though, simply because I don't feel like it.
I wanted to see it in IMAX when it came out in 3D, but I didn't get the chance.
And you're right, I also refuse to wear NMBC gear, because I think it's stupid anyway.
Even though I have Jack Skellington pajamas from when I bought them unknowingly right when the trend started being put into motion.

And as for Rat Race, that wasn't a great movie by any means, but I didn't think it was bad.

I agree. Nightmare Before Christmas will always be a favorite of mine, but it really gets annoying seeing large Jack Skellington heads on the back of redneck pickup trucks and on hooded sweatshirts everywhere.

ha ha....at least here, in this country NBC wasnt really big with the guidos. So you know the only people who've really seen it and wear the swag, are into the same things as we are.
And my heart still melts everytime i watch it.

It's quite cool actually, and it was all filmed in just six weeks.

I liked Labryrinth, the girl annoyed me but David Bowie was great. Scrooged is a christmas tradition at my house but then again I am a sucker for christmas movies. I've grown up watching Tim Burton movies because my mum likes them and Johnny Depp. I'm not aware of what is in Hot Topic or even what is trendy, I like what I like regardless of anything else.
I've just heard London After Midnight...Love them.

I pretty much thought it was awful. Not as bad as some movies I've seen... But still, that's not saying much.

Anyway, to each her own.

Ok I know there is no such thing as a second impression but some answers have changed.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Well this is the same...I am in my final year of High School.
2. Where are you from?
This doesn't change....UK but I am living in Australia
3. Who is your favorite author?
Edgar Allan Poe, and lately I've been reading Dracula
4. What are your favorite films?
Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Sid & Nancy, From Hell. I have recently got into Bela Lugosi movies (upon finding my Nan's videos of The Raven and The Black Cat).
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
The Beatles
6. At your funeral?
Funerailles by Liszt
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Still the same...It looks like I am going to die from Heart Failure due to complications of an Eating Disorder(anorexia/bulimia).
8. What kind of casket would you want?
A dark, rich wood casket.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
I don't have a favourite, I just wear whatever I feel like when I wake up.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Innocence
11. What's your favorite band?
Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Birthday Party, Rozz Williams, Christian Death, Fields of Nephilim, Alice in Psycholand, Alien Sex Fiend, Joy Division, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, The Dresden Dolls, Mission UK, Tones on Tail, Cruxshadows, Sex Pistols, The Damned, B-52's and The Beatles
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
High School and I am thinking of something in the Arts.... maybe Musician or Interior Designer
13. Why did you join?
The other Gothic forums were full people thinking they are Goth because they listen to metal and this was the only forum who seemed to have intelligent people.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I am a....Female...Well this of course hasn't changed.

Where in Australia are you living? I'm in Sydney.

For all of you who are complaining about the mall-goths in their Hot Topic Jack Skellington gear... I am not mall-goth-not that I can imagine a 33 year old mall-goth anyway, and yet I like to occassionally wear TNBC things. They are cute and sometimes it is fun to wear something that is so trendy that it's bad.. not because it's trendy, but because it's bad.

Sort of the same reason people become addicted to bad horror films and listen to the Spice Girls.
