Blackle.

www.blackle.com

Blackle is a search engine created by the people who made Google. Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. A monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen.

In January 2007 a blog post titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year proposed the theory that a black version of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the popularity of the search engine.

I'm now using it as my homepage/primary search engine. It makes me feel all nice and eco-friendly

A "green" search engine. Very cool. Gothic.net is my default homepage and it is almost all black, so I'll leave it for now, but I will start using blackle instead of google. Thanks for the URL.

It would be nice if they had a tool bar to replace the Google tool bar.

Just FYI, The only noticeable power decrease you're going to get is in CRT models. LCD models don't really depend on color projected.

It's still cool to have a black Google though.

I always use it. It's quite easing on the eyes.
