A forum is only as good as the trolls it attracts.

So what can we do to attract a higher caliber of troll? I want to see pie charts, projections, business models, incentive schemes. When was the last time a troll actually added something to the forum? How do we reel in the likes of Helpmann, Duckman, Judge and Lakita?

I think Helpmann and Lakita just got bored, Duckman comes back periodically and Judge was so crushed when she found out I had a girlfriend that she couldn't find it within herself to return.

Each & every member needs to look at him/herself, and think: am I trollable? And more importantly, what kind of user might want to troll me?

It's time to consider what the posters are bringing to the table - the situation grows dire (I heard that Lady Sorrow just made another thread), and we're in no position to carry passengers here.

Once we've trimmed the fat, we can think bake-sales and fun runs.

I found out Trolls are people who frequent sites they do not like; therefore, just insult everyone and only post hateful statements. It has nothing to do with spam.

That is not accurate. While I have always been careful to distinguish between trollery and spamming (two different behaviors that both mean a person is disrupting the function of a forum society), sometimes spamming can be one behavior among many that a troll undertakes. Spamming doesn't define a troll, but a troll can spam.

How to identify a troll

Also, spamming is against the rules here (as detailed in the FAQ's), so spamming is grounds for being banned. Trollery is not so well defined in the site rules.

More to the point, did he just put me THIRD on a list of four? Oh, there will be consequences for this.
