Bad Sequel! Bad!!!

Discuss bad sequels here, from Batman and Robin, to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. This is all opinionated, though, so if you thought that the Dark Knight sucked... well, post at your own risk.

Ghostbusters 2

It could've been way better. (Think along the lines of the RGB Episode Citizenghost)

Absolutely any Disney sequel. And as far as I'm concerned there is only one Matrix movie. And only three Indiana Jones films.

And I know its not a movie but Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge was just......BAD.

Mortal Kombat was bad, too. So was Street Fighters the movie, you want proof? Watch Nostalgic Critic's video reviews on the movies.

You don't need proof to see a movie based on a crappy video game sucked.

I LOVED Hellboy 2. But ah well, all a matter of opinion. I can heartily agree on Disney movie sequels, and remakes can be wretched too. Just look at House on Haunted Hill. Ugh. The ending was the WORST and it had almost nothing to do with the original.

I can't agree with the Disney sequels being bad by default. Pirates Of The Caribbean anyone?

What? Rather than acknowleding the ornate philosophical tapestry of the trilogy you're going to focus on the 'pow pow!' action movie of the series?

I seconded that!!

Especially the last part that 'that guy' fight with the Emperor was a waste of time to watch.

There was plenty of philosophy in the first one, my problems with the sequels was that they seemed to try too hard, and were predictable. I didn't know what the first Matrix was about until I saw it, it really surprised me. The sequels didn't present the same feast of philosophy pertaining to the nature of reality with healthy doses of action. When the second came out, I was disappointed that it had no surprises. When the third came out we went in knowing Neo had a Christ complex and I won a bet with my sister that Trinity would die.

@Kontan, forgot POTC was Disney I meant when they decide to cash in on their classics and write half assed sequels to them.

The philosophy of the first film was intentionally simplistic and flawed Manichaean thinking.

It fell on clichés a little, but it still said more ideologically than the first. They're meant to be a trilogy, the first two deconstruct the simplistic first installment's original presentation of the plot.

I for one liked the Matrix trilogy a lot.
I didn't like the third Godfather, Friday the 13th part 8 and Blues brothers 2000,

My girlfriend of the time dragged me, cursing, into the theater to see Rush Hour 3. She found it hilarious, and I died a little inside. The same girl had me watch Meet the Spartans with her. I won't even discuss my feelings on that one.
