Wow! Someone mentioned The Green Fields of France. Good to see it represented. My own favorite lyrics would have to be Fairport Convention's version of Tam Lin, which is too long to write out here. Tam Lin is probably the best known and most documented stroy dealing with the Fae in all the British Isles and Ireland. Kinda. The lead singer's from Minor Threat, one of the original punk/hardcore bands. I don't think Fugazi ever really classifies itself (I could be wrong) but their followers are mostly punk and indie-types.

Will disagree with Secretboy, and say that while "13 Songs" is a good introduction, their best album is "Repeater". However, their later stuff is damned fucking great and worthy of getting as well.

As far as Fugazi defining themselves, Ian once said they were a soul group. Which makes sense....at least to me, since I can hear the Barry White in their music. Just like I can hear the James Brown in Big Black's music (who are another awesome band that everybody needs to hear as soon as possible)
