Most Bitching Color for the Lining of a Cape
I have recently procured, through primarily honest labor, sufficient funds to add a new cape to my ever expanding cape wardrobe. Originally, I was resolved that the garment's coloration should be solidly black, for fear people might forget I'm gothic otherwise, but once I considered the possibility of red satin lining to match the crimson pigment of my vampiric blood, the proverbial levees broke and I found myself all but drowned in the nearly limitless possibilities available to me in this regard.
Overwhelmed, I seek guidance from you, my fellow cape-clad night-brethren.

All of my clothes are black because I worship the devil and don't like doing two loads of laundry. As for where and when-- everywhere, always.

Well then I pick red. At least it contrast some with black and you can always say that it represent devil or something and everyone will believe it.

Fortunately, I hate mustard. Then again, I don't often roll around in dirt either.

i think a deep red would look very striking, however rich purple lining would contrast beutifully as well, especially if you added some detail in silver.
btw im making a cape for the fashion show im going too,has anyone got any tips on how to make one?

I made my cousin's wedding cloak using basic instructions from this site: http://www.gothfashion.info/circlecloak.php
Anyway I voted forest. Green is the 'in' colour in my personal fashion world right now.

That was a cool site Cicero but the "Gothable Patterns" link is bad. But the cloak was surprisingly simple, and I liked the "Basic Goth Sewing ~ getting started" page.

I just dug up the link from a thread Minyaliel posted aaaages ago, haha. And I don't think it's been updated since I first discovered it around 2005/06. Still a great site for beginners though.

Those three who voted purple have made an understandable choice, I would truly look pimpin' in a purple-lined cape.

Um....I would say less "pimpin'" and more of a literal pimp.
The only color I could think of that says "Bitch, give me mah money" more, would be lime green.
But hey, it's your cape.

Hmmm.... purple or burgundy would be nice.
But I like purple best, just personal preference.

Egyptian blue...or anything darker than that....that'd be so awesome and more original than the red spectrum.

I voted burgndy, but the great thing about black is that it matches anything. For a cloak, though, jewel tones or other dark, rich colors would be your best bet (when I was younger, I had a cloak with beautiful emerald lining). Just make sure the lining color matches your hue of black! It wouldn't look quite right to pair a cooler black with a warm color like crimson, and royal purple would look silly against warmer blacks.
