Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

My cover of The Birthday Party

I'm sorry for posting an entire thread about this, but I couldn't find the thread specifically for personal music. I suppose it will also attract more attention this way?

Anyway, I covered Junkyard.. and I'd like to know your opinion of it. I might point out that I'm extremely comfortable with my voice, if that explains why I sound a bit wimpy.

so yeah. How is it?

It's a bit rough and such though.. I think I could do better. My main problem is that I'm really a newbie at recording. That, and my voice is pretty awful.

Erm...

Recording is bad, you're right. Also needs more instruments. Erm, yeah....

It was rough, but it's not hopeless. Just work it out some.

I am not a very compelling king. I suppose this song was really an experiment of sorts though, because it's the first time I've ever tried to record my voice.

Is my voice any good though? I mean, there are spots that I completely butchered, but that aside.

An interesting fact; all the instruments were my Bass.

I just listened to the original. Rework your vox. He's not just wontonly blaring his lyrics. He's actually singing.

Yeah.. I should probably just give up on singing and play experimental music again.

No....

If you know music, you should on some level be able to match tunes and notes with your voice.

Ever try to sound out your scales as you practice guitar or whatever it is you play?
