I know this is probably a topic for a much larger thread but: I never did understand Cybergoth. Could someone give me a quick run down?

edit: should have elaborated a bit on that. I've googled it, and got the general asthetic, but still not sure why anyone would like to have pvc piping in their hair.

But then again, one could ask me why I have an ttraction to the victoria era rather than anything fetish...

Yay! Another victorian enthusiast!

I've never been much for the fetish side, either. I prefer elegance over spandex. lol

About Cybergoth: From my understanding, Cybergoth is a flashy version of Goth that looks to the future rather than to the past. Most Cybers like anything flashy or shiny. [If I"m wrong, anyone is welcome to correct me..]

Nope, you're on track.
I'm not particularly either.
As arrogant as it might seem, I'm in my own category.
I take elements from everything.

My girlfriend is really into Cybergoth fashion. What Tam said about them liking futuristic clothing and accessories is the basic foundation. Other than that, there are varying degrees. Most of the clothing is some deriviant of plastic (PVC, vinyl). Popular items are legwarmers and hotpants, goggles, bio-hazard and radiation symbols. They also tend to wear hair extensions; usually dreads made from plastic hair with other materials elements woven in. Piercings and tattoos can accompany the look. My girlfriend has four piercings in her face alone. She also draws on her eyebrows, which isn't an exclusive CyberGoth thing, but is popular throughout the sub-category. I don't know what else to add really. You can just go to Wikipedia and type in "CyberGoth" for brief summary.

I don't think that's arrogant at all. Right now, I'm probably a mix too, but only because I don't really have the money to indulge in my preference as much as I'd like to.

Curse you, student loans!! CURSE YOU!!

Haha. Good.
LOL.
Yes, I know what you mean.
As soon as I get to college, I'm going to have the same issue.
I chose to be a mix, it didn't really just happen I guess.
Like I wear a lot of black skinny jeans, but always with boots.
And I always wear lavender with my black.
Then my makeup is never black, always white, like eyeshadow, sometimes black liner, but that's it.
For my nails usually an opalescent clear over a white polish.
And I love silver jewelry, especially when butterflies or snakes are involved.

What's your style like?

I like mostly silverish jewelry, but not a great deal of it. I've never liked wearing make-up, but when I do, it's usually dark eye-shadow, mascara, and maybe a bit of eyeliner. [I always end up poking myself in the eye with one or the other. :P] I usually don't wear nail polish, even though I like it.

I like lacy things and long skirts. I like clothes that make me feel feminine, but not too girly, I guess. I like long-sleeves and long gloves, but since I live in the heart of Dixie and it's summer, I've had to do without. :/

I -love- hats, and would love to have a little one with a veil! I'm also getting ready to plan my wedding, and I would -love- to dress in either something very Gothic victorian or as Morticia Addams. XD Cheesy, I know, but I think it would be fun! ^__^

Ooh. The Heat. I know what you mean. It 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday here. We had our coldest and warmer winter in the same year one time. The weather here is crazy. So I just adapt. I buy all short sleeved closed and lots of cut jackets, which I occasionally modify to my liking.

I wear gloves, but they're always fingerless and short.

Skirts are cute XD
But pants and leggings are my thing.
Have to make use of my body while I can.

I don't think it's cheesy. Lol.
Reminds me of what my friend Britnay wants for her wedding.
And it's cool that you're getting married.
Children are a no-no, but I do want to find someone I can really relate too.
I'd wants a futuristic feel.
All the decor can be white and I can ask everyone to dress in black,
and I'll do something metallic and pretty.

That sounds pretty cool! Yeah, it's a bit of a shock, actually; I had almost given up on finding someone! lol

Yeah, I've gotten to where I either want to go sleeveless or have long sleeves or gloves. I can't -stand- short sleeves nowadays! lol [I used to wear almost nothing but oversized tees and blue jeans when I was younger, but then I discovered this style and haven't gone back. ]

But yeah, the heat is a killer. x_x;;; I'm more than ready for fall now..

Lol. Well be glad you didn't.

Really? I love short sleeves. I can't do sleeveless, because of school policy.
XD My style has 'fluctuated', but I'm really sticking to it recently. But I've always been into goth rock, even in my all pink and glitter barbie phase in 6th grade.

Fall is nice. Cool breezes and pretty colors.
But I'm a winter person.
I love the snow.

technically, everyone in this country can get married, they just can't get married to who they want to. I thought I would just throw that out there.
