Whaddya do for a crust?

Basically where do you work? I apologise if this has been done dead, but yeah I am curious. I just got employed at the Abattoirs this week, I still have to finish off my training on Monday, I'm on probation for three months and I'll be paid weekly. Yep, I now understand why some people are vego for the moral side of it.

Abbatoirs, what joy! /sarcasm

Hope your work is better.

I make boxes for glassware. Vases, wine glasses ect.. The company does boxes for Royal Doultan, Harrods, Debenhams, places like that. I'm training to be a machine setter, I started off as a packer.

It is a boring job, but the people I work with are great, and I am allowed to have my MP3 player although no-one else uses one. I guess they took one look at me and decided that making me listen to the radio station they always have on might be detrimental to my health ( it truly is one of the worst!).

I'm a nurse. I work in Palliative Care, which is care of the terminally ill and dying. I used to work in a hospice where about 50% of my patients would come in for pain management and medication reviews and go home again. I now work in a hospital where we have a post-op rehab ward with 10 palliative beds. I work the 10 palliative beds-all of my patients come in with between 6 weeks and a few hours left to live. It sounds sad and awful, but I can't imagine doing anything else in the world. I love my job and I love the way that I'm able to help people die with dignity and free of pain and fear.

Ah, neat. Out of curiosity, what are the programs that are used the most now for animation and the like?

Really, I'm hoping to get into magazine layout or periodical design, but my curiosity is piqued.

It can be quite boring actually, doing a full play-through of a game a dozen times (at least), especially if that game is Miami Vice for the PSP...

I answered an ad in the paper. The fact that I have German helps, because we are also involved in localisation.

I've said too much already! *goes back into anon mode*

I work in animal care as a veterinary assistant. That basically translates to a small animal rodeo clown that restrains animals for evaluation and treatment, and cleaning up turds. After being in the job market for about 14 years after obtaining a biology degree, this is the first time I've been happy with what I do. I must say, though, black scrubs do show some animal hair...

Uh... does being a student supported by my dear old mother count...? I honestly would love to have a job, it's only that school leaves me with no time to do anything else. *sigh*

Well we mostly use the program Lightwave 3D by NewTek or Maya by Autodesk(formly Alias). Those are the two indsruty standards, with 3DS Max by Autodesk being the other heavily used one for like design of logo's, ad's, and the such.

I've been struggling with Lightwave 9 trying to make a floor machine for a training video for our customers

I am an assistant manager at the recreational Co-Op at the community college here. I also work at a mountain sports store, and I do photography. I'm a computer nerd, thats what I spend three quarters of my time doing. I have no life hehehe. During the summer I am a whitewater guide. It's quite funny when clients finally realize how many piercings and tattoos I have (for Wyoming).

I am a sarcastic Imports clerk slash "kid tech support" (since our IT department is so hard to reach most of the time) slash "local oracle" (since everyone is under the impression that I know EVERY-damned-thing...) for my company.
