Yep, 6 meals a day, exercise/lift weight, plenty of water. You can do all the aerobic exercise you want, but you need to pump some iron if you want to make some real progress. Sure, you can burn calories while running, but the benefits end shortly after you quit for the day, if you lift weight build muscle, you'll burn calories all day. The more muscle you build, the more calories you burn.

Haven't been exercising that much as I had a sinus infection. I go to a yoga/ tai chi class once a week (as well as swimming) and one of the ladies there has started her own class. I went for the first time on Fri and it was good, very aerobic in parts and much more advanced than the other class.

I have been thinking about trying to get into going running again now I seem to have lost enough weight to do it. I've only been once so far. It nearly killed me tho I am used to exercising.

This time of year walking in the park/country side is very appealing.

Weight loss seems to have slowed down quite a lot, since my BMI went into the normal zone its been a lot harder to get it off, but its still coming off slowly.

If you don't change, your life will be like this until you die miserable.

Even worse... I could end up like Ernie off of the George Lopez show... oh... fuck. Man... you know the only motivation I have is seeing really fat dudes walking in, and that alone makes me want to spend the rest of the day on an exercise bike. Man, Duane does not want be miserable, he wants to be happy... but he also doesn't want to end up being one of those assholes that tormented him back in school.

Why not? One of my larger goals in life is to be one of those assholes from high school and then find an asshole from high school and be an asshole to them. You know what they say-the best revenge has always been living well.

Assholes everywhere.

.........................um.

Off-note, I haven't been running in a week and a half.

Ever think that maybe it was you that you saw, like the Fatter Duane from the future... sent back from upthen to stop you from gorging yourself now and thus (missing the middle part to make the story work), saving the world from machine oppression?

going to experiment with Hiatus, see if that'll help me lose weight. So, instead of spending hours a day on the internet, I'll be doing ample cardiovascular workout, spend more time doing strength training when at home. While at work, along with a couple of laps around the store, I'll spend more time walking around taking care of the little things, straightening products, dusting, the good stuff. All that along with a proper diet, vegetables and fruit, plenty of water... also put aside some time to improve my attitude.

Check out Tosca Reno's "Clean Eating". Diet is more important than exercise in melting fat and her book is very easy to use. It dumbs down a lot of things (no offense), so it is easy for someone new to the ides to use.

My only problem is my thighs.
They're all right, and don't touch when I'm standing with my feet shoulder width apart, but they're still the doughiest part.

How do I fix this?

Running's best for that area.
you can compliment it with using a cross-trainer, but running is the best for that.

I'd agree there. Since jogging mine don't rub anymore. They touch because I'm so large, but they don't chafe as they once did which is an immense relief.

My legs if nothing else seem to look slightly better than they used to due to the jogging and walking. It's just my stomach and sides that cause me the most bother. Jogging has done nothing for those. I do still do my sit ups though ( but that's just toning the muscle under all the fat )

Thighs are the devil. Two devils. Two big, jiggly devils. I vanquish them with a-line skirts.
Incidentally I've gained 8 pounds back. Have not been jogging and have been eating crap and drinking soda all day. Goddamnit.

My thighs are rather large, due to:
a - muscle from horseback riding and hiking
b - I gain weight in my hips (not stomach) and thighs

Squats, stair-climbers, and hiking steep trails will get rid of the fat, but it will leave you with muscle.

When I was in 9th grade, I randomly got big boobs and squish on my hips/thighs.. as in, went up four cup sizes and three jean sizes. I've always eaten well and exercised regularly, and my doc said it was probably just the way my hormones are.. estrogen, and whatnot.
Even if I "diet" and up my daily exercise, I never lose more than a few pounds.
Sooooo.. any ideas? I've had some say that this is just the weight I'm supposed to be at, some have suggested having my thyroid levels checked.. ???

Go ahead and get your thyroid checked, it could very well be the cause. Try yoga or Ta Chi as they both increase your heart rate, burn fat, and tone muscle without putting on any bulk.
