Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

T-SHIRTS (rarw)
Hello people, and everyone else..
This will probably be my last question for a while since I'm quite busy doing... stuff.
I've been trying hard (read: really hard) to find some t-shirts that actually look decent.
My criteras are these:
a) No brands covering the entire shirt, better off, no brand showing off at all
b) stylish and quite "clean"
c) natural rather dark colors as the base color (preferably not entierly black though, I'm tired of all-black as of now..)
Either I'm blind or t-shirt sellers (uhm..) are awfully tasteless.
If you can find me a site I'll give you a cookie. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if u have Jack 'n' Jones in Sweden or Zara perhaps? Both my husband and i are goth, and i got a few nice t's from those shops. Why not try Pull 'n' Bear? They have great decent t-shirts.

Or get some tee shirts from the lingerie isle from your local stores. Usually companies like Fruit of the Loom sell plain colored tees next to the underwear and socks.

You can buy plain clothing (shirts, hoodies etc) from X-tra-x can't you?
Or are they all black...? >_>

I know what you mean, great T-shirts can be hard to find (I'm guessing you don't just want a plain T). If you go to some of the cheaper stores like Wal-mart, Zellers or Feilds (if you know what Feilds is) and look around you can find some amazing T's that aren't covered in brand names and have some really great designs on them. Some of my T's that have gotten tons of compliments cost under $15.00 and came from a cheaper store, and they last too. In my experience the brand name, expensive T's don't last at all. I would also advise you to go into stores you wouldn't normally consider, they often have some really great stuff that you just didn't know about.

I found a good site for buying T-shirts.. At least I like them.
http://www.rock-rebel.com/
"Affliction" for males and "Sinful" for females.
Inbetween the hardcore punk t-shirts there's some great designs (at least for us males..)

Actually checking out the female sortiment atm, it's better but I probably wouldn't fit in a girlie (though I do fit in some x.x)
Anyway, I saw Dir En Grey yesterday, they kicked some royal ass. It was helluva crowded but fun anyway. They played a bit too many songs from Marrow of a Bone, but they also played some (now) classics such as The Final and Embryo.

Gah, what is up with everyone wanting regurgitated sex/seditionaries stuff these days?
At least the designs you pointed out aren't hideous, even if I'd feel like an a**hole wearing mass-produced rip-offs of seditionaries designs.
Spooky boutique does still sell band t-shirts:

LA Decay sells cool pins and patches, so you don't waste your money buying hoodies that look like a corporation vomited all over them:

That's up to yourself I guess.
I figured some people here would dislike it.
As far as I'm concerned I just dress the way I do because I like how I look in it, there's not much more thought behind it than that. If I can look myself into the mirror and be pleased with what I see, that's pretty much enough for me.
Anyway, I'm not a Goth, per definition I'm a J-rocker. I started posting on this site before since this seemed to be the sanctum for intellectual alternative people (well, *real* goths) so it just seemed like a fresh breeze of air considering what I've witnessed on other boards so I just decided to stick around. Haven't been around much for the last months though. It was probably a mistake posting the link but I figured I would come with sort of reply since I haven't checked this thread for a while.
Peace, I probably wont be back for a while.

It just seems odd that you'd not want t-shirts without brands on them, and then post links to t-shirts with logos all over them that is the new way of branding items.
I suppose it's very j-rock, but that is an extremely commercially fabricated culture.
I'm sorry, I have tried to wrap my head around commercial "subcultures" in the past, but I just don't get them.

I totally agree. But paying a company to rip her off is not. :-(
