I just dyed my hair from red to black. Or I thought I did..
It's now jet black in the front and fades to dark red at the ends with some other spots that are still red. Ive dyed it twice to try and fix it, but sadly it didn't work. I think I'm cursed. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Is your hair very long or thick? if so try using 2 boxes thats what i have to do to get good coverage. I use nordic colours natural black.

I used Loreal Feria. Starry Night. I had more then enough to coat my hair twice even though it is very thick so it shouldn't be the amount I used. I even left it in longer then it says to.

Heres a pic of it..

Its hard to see the spots of red, but then ends are clear.

Thanks It's starting to grow on me. I just hope when I need to touch up roots that my hair will take it.

I've had trouble perming my hair in the past too. The last 2 times I tried it fell out in less then 2 weeks. Any time I try to just curl my hair it falls out 20 minutes later. I'm starting to think my hair just wont let anything into it. Well, that or I really am cursed

I have the same problem with perms and curls..

50,000 volts wouldn't curl my hair..

I've also had the same problem with Black Dye..

It's probably a combo of your hair being too clean when you dyed it, and the dye you used..

The Feria Starry Night did the same thing with me..

You'll probably just have to try some different one, until you find one that works well with your. Go to Sally's Beauty Supply and ask what they have there. They still professional strength dyes and supplies at a pretty cheap price.

Thanks. I'll have to check a place like that out. This is the first time I've put a permanent color in my hair so I went to the only place I knew of that sold it.. a Drug store heh.

I have naturally wavy hair. However, as it's so long (waist-length) and so thick (like a bloody rope!) it's currently poker straight. If I am going to go red, I'd like a Pre-Raphellite wave in it too-any tips?

A perm might make it more inclined to stay wavy, mine did when it was permed...sort of, but the main problem really is the weight of your hair pulling it straight (at least, that's what my problem is, and I'm assuming it's your's as well). The only thing I've really found that increases it's likelihood to stay wavy is letting it dry without any weight on it...like going to sleep with it wet, and then using a light amount of hairspray or somesuch on in in the morning. That's my two cents on the subject, it's what I do, and it kinda works...

Drying your hair upside-down with a diffuser helps to keep the curl in too.

Firstly, hello! I've just discovered this board in an attempt of finding out how to style my hair like a devilock...so.
Anyone here knows how to???
I know that basically, you just gotta comb down your bang of hair and ,like, mess with it...but I can't seem to find a way of managing to look good!!

PS: I'm looking for a Davey Havok kinda style, not the classic Misfit's that's just one bang in the front center of your face.

I had the same problem with that dye. I've since switched to Nice N' Easy Natural Blue Black, and am quite happy with it.

Instructions for Play-Do Snake making:

Obtain bit of Play-Do, any color.
Roll bit into ball.
Lay ball on flat surface, and then roll under palms until ball flattens out into a rope o'DO.

-or-

Roll ball between palms until ball becomes the aforementioned rope. This is probably the best technique to use for hair, as it is awkward to roll your hair on a flat surface, and to be honest, you can probably skip the whole "roll into a ball" part. But you get the idea.

Is there a permanent black dye that doesn't make your hair look terrible?

Yeah, Lorel's blue black is shiny and amazing in the light if you have the skin tone to pull it off.

Use about fifty cans of hairspray and never wash it out, sleep hanging upside-down and train your pet bats to tangle it with their claws. Simple!

Whaddaya mean you don't have pet bats?! That's SO un-gothy *sniff*

Seriously though, just grow it long and messy and use lots of product in it.
