I'm 32 now, and yet a few more years closer to death. When I was in school the whole concept of dying scared the hell out of me, and I had this weird feeling that I would die before the age of 18. But as I grew older and found I was still alive, I learned to live with it. It's inevitable, and there's nothing we can do about it.
The only fear of death I have now is dying before doing everything I want to do!

Unfortunatley at the moment I am terrified of both
although many of you have given me some really good advice, and I am begining to feel a little better. I am sure in time I will learn to accept life and death, right now I just went in to over shock... too much thinking... and all.... thank you so much though everyone, for the advice and experiences =)

I console myself with the thought that even if I am going to die, I'm going to live far longer through my descendants.
I'm going to clone myself. Mwahahahahahaha!!!! I will never die! Mwahahahahahaha!!!
But no. Really. I've nearly died several times. I almost drowned in a fucking water drum, got run over by a trailer, got trapped in a runaway car and nearly spilled my brains all over the ground falling from a ladder.
Be not afraid of death. What you should be afraid of is how you're going to die.

I promise I'm not going to turn this into a debate of beliefs, but it's not true that we can't know.
Or, at least, it's as true that we can't know as it is true that we can't be certain gravity is always a factor in the universe.
