Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Techno and Electronica

This might be a lame question, but what is the difference between techno and electronica music?

Techno generally has a constant hard beat to it while electronica can apply to either a wide range of electronic or electronic-influenced music or modern electronic music which isn't just for dance clubs, it can also be listened to for amusement at home.

You know, you could have looked this up on Google..

Before starting a thread to ask a question, I highly suggest searching Wikipedia. I guarantee you it will answer at least 80%, if not more, of your questions.

Electronica:

Techno:

EDIT: Sorry Somber Illusions, but your signature is bothering me. Is it supposed to be "Why don't hookers take food stamps?" or "What? Don't hookers take food stamps?"

Maybe we should have a thread for stupid questions like these. So as to prevent newbs from creating pointless threads.

Or maybe we already do, I just didnt look hard enough?

Well if they were smart, they would save their questions for randomness. Whenever I have a question I just put it there. But even if there was a thread for stupid questions, it wouldn't make a difference, some foolish person is bound to overlook it.

Why is this a stupid question? It may be random, but aren't most of the threads on this board random?

Bjork_freak, I apologize for the signature issue. It was supposed to be "Why don't hookers take food stamps?" I must have overlooked it, you know how languid our brains can get at night on a computer.
