Hello Everyone, very pleased to meet you

I used to be on The Gothic Beauty Forums, but they got eaten by a giant cyber-whale and now i am here...

I am a dancer/writer/artist from Kentucky, USA... it's funny, i am a goth person who cannot make music and my friends like to make fun of that because every goth site you see has all of this stuff about music...

where i live there really isn't a goth community, the people who are called 'goth' wear ugly torn clothing and have bad hygiene and call themselves goth. most of them just like to be violent and mean and pick fights. their music, and this comes from me, is too loud and generally irritating.
i wear a combination classic goth and gothic ****** clothing and people have no idea what to think of me because those people have obscured the image so much.

Well, it is nice to meet everyone.
Sandi

opinions of goth diversify, malice. It doesn't matter, she's entitled to that, so are you, move on.

Where did she express any opinion on "goth diversity?"

Maybe she was talking about drunken hobos? They wear torn clothing and can get pretty violent.

She's still a snotty fuck.
Oh lady daady da, "classic goth", laady daady "l0lita" da.
You make me sick.

This could also be due to sleep deprivation, work and cider.
But I put it down to lolifags.

Excuse me, mister, i was not expressing opinions about the torn style of clothing, i was simply expressing opinions about the snotty little poseurs who harass me near daily and hang around when they are not wanted who are unfortunately labeled as goth.

it was nothing against the style of torn clothing where it is flattering and the people don't smell like street trash. torn clothes can look good, i have a few items where it is rather flattering... these people just don't take care of their clothing because they are all too busy trying to do drugs and mate.

Excuse me for being loli and having taste. i am sorry i offended you. also sorry you are sleep deprived, i am somewhat in the same situation... you should nap on company time like the rest of us

thank you everyone else for the welcomes,
Sandi

Frankly, the whole classic goth look is much more pleasing than looking like a drunken mess hobo in my opinion.

What's "classic" about it?
Originally goth was just punk painted black.
Torn shit and everything.

Surely that's the "classic" look then?

I can see where he and others can take issue. I mean, why are those folks "snotty poseurs?" I mean, it's one thing if they are indeed pricks with no manners and take it out on you but if they simply dress differently than you...

Leave them alone if they don't take care of their clothing, it's their own fault and they really can't come moping to you.

I've been trying to figure out this loli phenom and this attitude can be prevalent among some, if not half, of them. I know you guys don't appreciate people trying to shove the "If you look like a demure overgrown Victorian child, you should act like one." opinion on you but at least try to be a mensch.

IE: At least be civil regardless and not just because you're swaddled in $200-300 worth of Japanese brand clothing and your opponent isn't. It's one thing if someone doesn't care about not getting the guidelines of your fashion right but to dub someone tasteless for liking the deconstructed deathrock look better is just plain cold.

And there's a sticky questionnaire, y'know. Maybe you can make up for it there by filling it out so we can get a better idea of who you are because I hope this isn't it.

Yeah but that got lumped into the deathrock when the fancypants goffs started incorporating the 20s/30s/40s into the trad goth look to where it actually managed to push out the torn look into the deathrock category.

I never got that shit.
I hate the whole materialistic aspect of buying a ton of wannabe Victorian crap for Ł5465435458793545454887545457878546579874354321548 75432135468.
In my opinion, it contradicts the roots of the subculture.

Also, I'm betting this lolifag is some kind of operatic metal/Emilie Autumn/Dresden Dolls fan.

You know something? I can get behind the 20s and the aforementioned decades because it gives me more to look at besides the aristo-Victorian clones (and my history of icons here) but I think vintage goth would be a better fit and put the torn route back in the trad camp.

I'm gonna hold off on until the intro to see if she is indeed a snooty stereotype. I hope I'm wrong but so far it's not good.

Surely what I meant was the whole Victorian/Renaissance look that ranges within the subculture. I always enjoyed the look of elegance moreso, mostly since I did spend half of my HS years with the punk-goth people. I don't have anything against neither of those style of dress, since I still find "dressing goth" optional to actually considering oneself goth.

But lol-- the OP said she was..loli? As in that ****** goth BS shit that derived from Sailor Moon and things like that? I'm sorry, but I find that incredible annoying and I still withstand by my theory that it did originate from Sailor Moon, and by the likes of people wanting to look like their favorite anime characters.

Edit: LOL for the whole mentioning of the word loli being flamed out. Hilarious.

But that stuff's a yawner. Why not up the ante with Victorian lowbrow (I know I'm asking for trouble with Urban Dictionary)?

And the loli bit is from Japan influenced by their obsession with the Victorian and Rococo ages. This came up in a debate at Fashion and that's how I came to know.

L0lita has been censored so that people trolling for porn won't have us popping up on their radar even though we've had porny banners for every alt cam whore known to man and J List ads pimping hentai games and comics.

Really, it's just girls and women who want to look like hypermega girly, and overly modest with every yard of silk and lace to exist. And don't get me started on how hot some of them are on finding Prince Charming or women willing to dress like him.

Yeah sorry, I was talking about the period type stuff.
I do dig 20s/50s stuff a fair bit.
Never really into the sixties, although there were some rad shades about.
I'm just huuuuuuugely critical when it comes to "romantic" or victorian goth.
The whole thing pisses me off.
Can't stand lolifags either.
It might be different if they made their own stuff more often.

If the "kajiit" in her name is a reference to The Elder Scrolls then I don't think I can hate her, but there's nothing wrong with torn up ratty clothes. I definitely agree with Malice on the whole shelling out your life savings for like, one shoddy Victorian piece from online being BULLSHIT, though. Where the fuck is the DIY!?

P.S. Dunmer is where it's at.

That was the first thing I noticed about her as well, but Bosmer are far superior, they're all like:
