My first thought on reading that rant was, "I wonder if the professor is grading on a curve?"

Because if grades are based on comparison to other entries, then I would be overjoyed to have my entry compared to other people's idiocy!

The second though that entered my head is that you may have spent more time, energy and brain cells on that rant than those classmates spent on their papers in the first place. And that seems inefficient and fruitless.

However, I think the one whose paper was titled "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" should be banned from ever operating heavy machinery! *snort*

*face palm* The company I work for is officially caught up in tons of controversy over a ring that has a "swatstika" look a like on it. The fact is that it's actually an Eastern symbol (the swatstika backwards)...but a apparently "bored out of her mind" lady decided to get offended by it, and we ended up being on ABC news and CNN. Plus we are now getting about a trillion e-mails about either how we are horrible people for even carrying something with anything that resembles a swatstika OR how they can order a bunch of them. The fact is that the ones that the lady found, were at our location in another city. They weren't ordered by them, but given as samples from a vendor in Korea where the symbol is considered good luck and beauty. Well some how the rings got put out on the store floor, and then that lady found them. We didn't know anything about it since we're stationed elsewhere for our website..but all of a sudden we got a kagillion phone calls from news reporters and then my boss had to find away to get us out of the rut. Why are people so ignorant?

Speaking of ignorance, whose idea was it to make a ring with a swastika and sell it in the southern US of all places? A place that isn't particularly well known for having open minds.

Like I said an Asian vendor who I guess didn't know that it looked too much like the 'bad' swatstika? I dunno but the whole situation has just been blown out of proportion and I just found another forum from the 'white nationalist community' where they've been telling everyone to e-mail our website and buy a whole bunch of the rings from us. But we never had them and didn't even know of their existence at the store.

I have too many friends, there is no way that I will be able to see everyone I want to see while I am home as I will only be home for a week (perhaps less if I hear back from Greensprings) and two days are going to be spent with family. I guess I'll just have to try and see as many people as I can.

I have been digging this chick for months, and giving her rad gifts is like my calling card now. I really don't know what I have to do to get with her though, I have exhausted all avenues.

The best thing to do in that situation is to be honest and either tell her what you want. Or make a subtle move that will lead into what you want. Chances are she wants you to but is to scared of being too forward. You're a cute guy...make the move!

I did, she rejected me in no uncertain terms. To be fair, she did have a boyfriend at the time and I just swooped in like "Yo, I like you, are you going to leave that other guy now and frolic through the fields with me?" to which she was just like "No, how can we even be friends now that you have told me this?"

Yeah, but there is still no movement from her. Gothicusmaximus will tell you from our girly chats about my love life, I am so good to this chick her heart should be exploding with feelings for me but she just seems totally disinterested.

I absolutely abhor this whole scenario, I'm currently seeing it happen to one of my best guy friends...he's constantly being her shoulder to cry on, buying her things left and right, and he's there for her every need. Yet every time he asks her if she has feelings for him, she says only as a friend. This guy treats her better than my boyfriend treats me and they haven't even held hands! These girls bother the heck out of me because they are getting the attention and adoration, without the ties..so if some bad guy comes along they can get with them without feeling the guilt of breaking the nice guys heart. Ya know? But I don't know the complete details of your case...so it could be that the girl just needs time to figure things out. As long as you stick in her life for a while and hang out with her, to where she can start developing those feelings..you might have a chance. But don't wait too long, sometimes it just isn't worth it.

I am just annoyed by the fact that my friend assumed that because I am a believer in socialism, I am automatically not going to pay taxes. She said that because "socialist are just stupid people that never pay taxes or anything".
I asked her if she ment welfare people and she was like "oh yeah, them".
Then when I tried to explain what socialism is and the fact that even people on welfare pay taxes she just kept blabbering on about how stupid socialism is...even though she doesn't know what it is.

She is a sweet girl, but oh my god, really stupid.

My thoughts exactly. Sorry but if the girl just sees you as a friend then that is that, you can't force someone to like you no matter how much you like them. If you keep up with the "look how much I do for you" crap all that you will accomplish is making her feel guilty.

JCC, if she doesn't see you as someone who is desirable, no amount of gifts or other plying will change that.

If you tell her you've been undressing her with your eyes, what is her response? If she says something flirty, the door is open. If she says something neutral, then there is an opportunity. If she says something like she doesn't think of you that way, that door is bolted, locked and the chica is shopping for a chastity belt. And rather than expending any more resources trying to change that status, just move on. And only buy her the kind of things you would buy for any other friend that you enjoy talking with ... if you enjoy talking with her.

If you don't enjoy talking with her, well, that's a different story entirely.
