Depending on the pill you actually have about an hour gap of time in which you can take your pill (but most people have a set time just because that is the easiest way to remember). There are also the options of the ring and th patch both both of which continually release hormones so you have a little bit more leeway when changing them but they shouldn't be out of contact with your body or more than two hours. Also these things do a good bit more for most women than just preventing pregnancy, they help clear up acne prone skin, they ease menstrual cramps, diminish pms, they can even help women suffering from cyclothymia (essentially a very mild form of bipolar disorder)

Condoms + pill = No baby. Use both, please. Using one is not foolproof.

Plus, STDs are nasty.

I don't want to go down that tangent. I dislike the reported side effects and I would not want to subject my partner to them.

Ever seen a facial herpes outbreak? Ugh!

I'll have to agree with Lapin, condoms cannot protect against every single STD out there but they are still indispensable as a form of protection. Unless you're in a monogamous relationship (she could be lying, I was lied to) and you're both tested, condoms should definitely be part of the defense against the axes of evil (STD, Pregnancy, Iraq).

Catty pettiness.
And that fact that you are a woman and I don't seem to have any problems communicating with men most of the time.

Right right right, because using only yourself as an example is both effective and wise.

PS--it's not catty to say I don't want some 17 year old girl getting pregnant. I don't want that, because it's not good for anyone.

You're too selfish to see that, because you see everything as A. directed at you, and B. aiming to take you down on some way.

I've said MANY times on here that I disapprove of ANY teenage pregnancy.

I am a man and I fully agree with what Ophelia said.

Ditto on the teen pregnancies. Just because you're physically capable of reproducing doesn't mean you should or are mentally fit to do so.

There is something else you have also done many times, and that's attack me. So yes I take the things you say personally, I have a reason to.

If you're going down that road, I'll have to point out that I attack everyone who makes bogus claims and acts like an asstard, so no, you can't take it personally.

correct me if I'm wrong this thread started out as me asking a question
What bogus claims have I made by asking about people's experiences?

You did kind of flat out say that you weren't going to accept some of the evidence that did not agree with what you wanted to hear, and you were less than tactful about it

Show me when I said this. OP telling me I don't "sound like the type of person that would gain breast tissue from birth control" is not evidence last time I checked.

Second, like most people said, it can make your breasts grow. However, this is because it's common for women to put on weight while on birth control. So it's likely that if your breasts grow, so will your thighs and stomach.

Actually it is.
You have a small frame, and you've said yourself that you're not prone to gaining weight at all, let alone gaining weight only in your breasts.

I was talking about what happened to my friends in real life, those claims were true because those friends exist and those things happened to THEM. What's untrue about that statement then?
True they don't represent everyone, but it's a few people.

My friend has a small frame too and her breasts didn't grow for years while we went to high school, and in 6 months on BCP they did. This gave me reason to believe small frame didn't matter at this point.

You can't pick and choose evidence based on whether or not it tells you what you want to hear

Listen. I need birth control EITHER WAY, for you know CONTROLLING WEATHER OR NOT I GIVE BIRTH.
Is it so bad that I am also hoping for another effect? Give me a break.

Well actually. I can. If it gives me hope and makes me feel better, why the hell not.
Plus the evidence I got to confirm my theory was convincing enough, and I'm taking birth control, not rat poison.

It's not bad to hope for it, but it's STUPID to think that it'll happen because it happened to your playground buddies.

No it isn't. It's probably basing on how many "playground buddies" have told me this happened to them.
I may not be one of the ones it will happen for, but It could also work.
