I saw Big Trouble in Little China when I was a kid. I loved it. Thinking back, I have absolutely no idea why, but there it is. Very bizarre, if memory serves...

The guy wrote the creepiest music in his films that gave an amazing atmosphere. It such a shame that with latter film like Ghosts of Mars was much more reliant on gore and violent.

Hell hath no Fury...like Christine.
I really liked his adaption of Stephen King`s `Christine`, its been a while since I`ve last seen it.
`She was born bad. Plain and simple. Somewhere deep on a darkened assembly line. Christine. A '58 Plymouth Fury possessed by Hell. She's taken control of her teenage owner, Arnie. Her previous owner is not alive to warn him. And now she's steering straight for the one person in her way. Arnie's girlfriend, Leigh. The other woman.`

Ummmm....considering that "Halloween" is studied in film schools nowadays, I'd like to officially disagree with you.

Geisha, you mean you're not afraid of Captain Kirk masks painted white? I know I am.
*shudder*
I liked John Carpenter's Vampires, bit I consider that a porn. For me at least.

Wolfies scared of William Shatner ?, having heard his version of `Lucy and the Sky of Diamonds ` I can imagine why.
As for the mask painted white, thats no mask, it`s William Shatners evil twin...
John Carpenters Vampires was a really good film, I`ll have to add that to my DVD collection someday.

I have *most* of carpenters film’s on DVD – they are worth getting for his commentaries – which are very good.
Last Halloween I went to a Halloween themed night in TJ’s, and the DJ put on the Halloween theme music, and out of everyone there I was the only one who got the joke. Some people know nothing about decent films. Sigh.

I thought John Carpenter's "Vampires" was terrible. The story was boring and the acting was REALLY bad. I mean, it had some sexy parts but I've seen better vamp flicks.

I liked John Carpenter's "Vampires" because… err… I think I’ve just seen a lot move Vampire films that were 5 times as bad, but not a great movie even for fans of his work. Better then ghosts of Mars though.

I'm a fan of all of his stuff. Halloween and Prince of Darkness will always be favorites of mine. Vampires was alright if you don't take it too seriously.

Vampires is one of my favorite bad movies. And I am appalled that no one mentioned Ghosts of Mars. I actually saw that in the theater. I took my mother. LOL! Great bad movie. Plot, none. Good acting, none. Senseless violence in extreme, yet somehow creative ways, lots. Sorry, I do happen to have a soft spot for some senseless movies.
