The Dead Kennedys are possibly the 2nd best punk band of all time, coming right after Danzig-era The Misfits.

Noes, they are equal.
Followed closely by the Clash, Napalm Death, Bad Religion and Circle Takes the Square. They are the Punk Greats in my opinion.

Napalm Death? Grindcore is about as far away from punk as you can get, while still under the title "Punx!"
I say we replace that with the Anti-Nowhere League, the best crust punk band EVER.

Grindcore is Punk taken to it's logical conclusion. I am ofcourse referring to early ND as their later work is closer to Death Metal than Hardcore.

They moved faaaar away from Punk, and into the realms of Death Metal...I never found their early work satisfying.
And The Clash, The Ramones and Dead Kennedys were all great artists...The Clash is (and always will) have a really special place in my heart.*

Napalm Death still have a very Punk attitude, they just learnt how to play their instruments.
