Apparently, it tastes like licorice and that the effects of drinking it are overhyped (read: More than likely caused by the dangerous dyes used to color it back in the day and the wormwood is very little in today's drinks)
Me, I'll just stick to rum and Coke and generally never try to drink vodka and rum separately in the same evening again. Malibu and Absolut are good ones and I'd love to try some caramel Bailey's as well as the ubiquitous snakebite and black.
Hmm...What's everyone's limit? With me and my small frame, I'm out after 2 or 3 and that's if I ate before hand. Otherwise, it'll be 2 at most.

One really fucking good and strong drink will do it for me. Basically like 2 or 3 shots of Bacardi 151, essentially.

I don't drink anymore (can't handle it) but when I did my favorites were German Doppleboch brew or dry martinis! And an occasional Dos Equis beer.
And Zin when drinking wine.

..."limit"? What's a limit?
The only alcoholic beverages I've ever hit a limit with have been Bacardi Select (it made me black out after 3 shots; the stuff fucks with my system aparently) and Goldshalgger (After drinking half a bottle inside an hour, and only because i couldn't stomach the cinnamon).
It takes a minimum of 6 shots in a short time (or an equal amount of mixed/beer) for me to feel anything, and the effects only last a few hours.

i used to drink pretty heavily, but i dont anymore. drinking just doesnt hold the same allure for me that it once did. but thats a personal story.
however.
when i was drinking, i used to love to mix some UV apple and some butterscotch schnapps. tastes kind of like a carmel-apple lollipop.
a standard screwdriver or some whiskey and sprite will do me nowadays.
but oh, there is a reason the rum is finally gone.

It is legal to buy in the states but not legal to make the real stuff over here (the easiest way to get it is to order it online) and from what I have heard the Swiss make the best of the best and France has the best of the reasonable affordable stuff but I have only had it once and while it was rather interesting I don't really think it is worth the price (but if someone else is buying it is a nice drink)
As far as my favorite drinks: I would have to say a good Georgia peach or mint julep are about as good as it gets (Yay for drinks made for girls who can hold their liquor) but I do like just about any well made cocktail and I love sweet red wines, especially ice wines but they are a bit on the expensive side

I have too many "drinks of choice." It kinda varies from time to time.
Beer: Chimay, Guinness, Stella
Port wine
Straight tequila
Margarita on the rocks, with salt
Vodka and cranberry juice
Vodka tonic
Vodka and sudachi (Japanese lime-like fruit)
Nihonshu (that's sake to you gaikoku-jin)
Shochu (the above's stronger sibling)
Umeshu (plum liqueur)
Baileys
Chambord

Well I love some classic drinks like a Zombie, or a PornStar or similar drinks with cool names, but I think my personal favorite is some orange-flavored Bacardi! It's good, it's got a nice little vampire bat on it, and the band Nada Surf has made a song called "Bacardi"!

My dad brings absinthe home from the old country. Kind of reminds me of black licorice. I hate it.
I enjoy rum and cokes, sangria, and vanilla vodka with apple cider.

...and no one has mentioned mead yet (unless I read too fast)? Chaucer's is my favorite, chilled (not mulled). Mmm, wine made outta honey. Good junk.
Also, an Amber Bock or 2 to jump-start the evening works well.
You wouldn't have the palate for Arrogant Bastard Ale (or so the bottle claims, but I have been proven that wrong) so don't even try.
Haven't tried it yet, but Maynard from Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer has his own wine, Caduceus. Might be worth a shot.
Jungle juice has its merits, and there's always the hug-the-toilet action goin' on after a night of Jack shots with friends while playing poker.
How can I forget?!? Try a Seven & 7 (Seagram's 7 whiskey & Seven-Up), fantastic, as well as a Mind Eraser or 2 (Kahlua, vodka, & tonic). Never felt fuzzier.

I don't know what the best is but I have a list of favorites.
Sagres beer, diekirch beer, Bofferding beer, Löwenbräu beer. Spirits would be Jägermeister, Zubrowka Vodka, Absinthe, Whisky, Salmiakki (when I can get it), Gletscher Eis, Hunnegdröpp, Tequila, Chartreuse. Mixed Drinks I like are usually Black Death, Lifetakers, Bombers are quite nice occasionally, Jack and Coke and last but not least Liquid Asphalts and Freddy Krügers
