a favor: help me use my vacation wisely

I have eight days of paid vacation to use before the end of the year! I want to check out clubs in other cities or perhaps catch a concert or two. Of course, I have no idea which clubs/nights are good. I would really appreciate some suggestions. (Locations must be in the U.S.)

Specifically, if you’ve been to one of these clubs/nights, I’d love to hear some feedback:
Cybertron – New York– first Thursday of each month
Nocturne – Philadelphia – every Wednesday
Electroshock – Newark – every Saturday

I also have no one to celebrate New Year’s Eve with, so suggestions for Dec. 31 festivities would be great.

Heard Nocturne was good. Of course, when I was in Delaware, I never made it down. Good clubs I've been to:

Death Guild in San Francisco: the old school of the old school. And now back in its original location!
The Church: Dallas, TX. -- probably the best scene/music I've heard.

Have heard about:
Man Ray, Boston, MA: Also supposedly old school, with grand DJs.
chiar0scuro, Washington, DC: I know the promoter! We used to get drunk and philosophize when she lived in SF. Most everyone I know in the DC scene eventually makes it there. The only time I had a chance of going, I, er...was too tired to go. I am lame and old.

ChiarOscuro in D.C. is my usual Saturday night club. Most of the DJs play the types of music I really like. On Halloween, I danced for three hours straight.

Next time I am back in DC, I will have to go. I still feel bad for not showing up the time I was down there.

Is the Bank still going on in NYC? That was a great club...uh....ten years ago. :/

I don't know how good this is but a club called Shampoo has a goth night on Wednesday. I wanted to go but alas, it wasn't to be. Besides, I don't have any really 'gothy' clothes to go in. XD

The Lizard Lounge, or on Thursday's and Sunday's more commonly known as "The Church" located in Dallas. A very cool goth club where the people are friendly and the music is loud. Definitely a good place to have fun and meet people.

The Church is not the biggest place but Dallas can be a fun city to visit, especially if you're an art enthusiast, like me.
