Skold VS KMFDM (new album coming soon)

KMFDM are making a new album with Tim Skold.

Tim Skold was a member for a few KMFDM albums in the past and also was on the MDFMK album.

It seems that they are collaborating again. This time combining in a way that presents the attributes of Tim Skold's solo work, Skold, along with Sascha's KMFDM framework to create a hard hitting, fun and aggressive industrial rock album simply titled SKOLD VS KMFDM. The songs tend to combine the technical guitar work and lyrical wordplay of SKOLD with the heavy beat electro formula of KMFDM seamlessly. Neither a SKOLD album or simply KMFDM, but a wonderful combination of both entities is surely something to look forward to!

Samples for the album can be found here.

kmfdmrecords(dot)com/svk/ (sorry. I still can't post links yet. ;p)

I like what I hear so far. It's like if you took KMFDM and added more melody and symphonic elements along with guitar solos and atmospherics. Anybody else excited about this?

22 tracks and 70+ minutes long too! That's a hefty chunk of music.

You can play some of their new stuff on that website?

I can't figure out how to do that. All can see is a list of what must be song titles, can't click them though.

I might be seeing KMFDM next year

This is shaping up to be the most awesome thing ever. It reminds me a little of the Symbols/Adios era, but generally it's like nothing I've heard before.

This KMFDM fanboy is very very excited!

Do you have the latest version of flash? For mine it shows a loading process in each track title and after that's done you can click them and listen to samples.

It may have slowed down due to them announcing it at the kmfdm official site. They've put up what appears to be some album artwork.

@ Mr. Filth : You don't happen to know Mrs.Filth, right ?

'Cos I believed I have talked to her before, few weeks ago.

I tried it again about an hour after posting that and it worked, so maybe you were right. Thanks though.

You found something about KMFDM before Ebbhead haha.

It'll probably suck balls. KMFDM started sucking a while ago.

KMFDM SUCKS!

I actually loved their last album. Tohuvabohu. On first listen I was disappointed but a while later after the initial shock wore off I gave it another shot and now I love it. It's very fun and has a lot of variety. Everything since Attak was way too serious. Tohuvabohu reminds me of Money and Naive. It's become one of my favorites.

Hau Ruck isn't so bad either. Especially because of the analogue production and live keyboarding instead of sequencing.

I'd say my favorite albums are Tohuvabohu, Symbols, Angst, Money, Nihil and XtoRt.

Overall I think they put out a pretty consistent and reliable product.

I'll have to review his threads if he's a big fan. Do you like the samples?

Bloodsport rocks! A lot of them do.

It's kind of weird that there are so many little interludes with the same names as other songs spread around. It makes me wonder if this may not be the final track listing or final song title choices.

Also cool. This album is going to be exclusively Sascha and Tim. I like that. Besides MDFMK and Money, the other KMFDM albums tend to have a lot more artists on them. I love Money and MDFMK though. This is so exciting!

He doesn't really come here I'm afraid, he's on the Syko forums, though with a different user name.
Yup I think so, but the "Skold vs KMFDM" thing is very annoying.
I love Tohuvabohu. Then again I like some songs on Attak too.

Attak was cool. Just not a very strong return. I didn't really like the drum n bass stuff that much. Seemed out of place. Sturm and Drang was probably the only incredible song on it.

I'm diggin out all my old KMFDM and Excessive Force CD's. I'll probably gonna listen to nothing but those till this album is released. KMFDM binge FTW!

Tim Skold? As in Marilyn Manson's old guitarist Tim Skold?

LOL! Tim Skold was in KMFDM before Manson. And before KMFDM he was in two other bands called Shotgun Messiah and Kingpin. He also released some solo stuff as Skold and played bass for OhGr on tour. But you knew that didn't you? If not, yeah. Same guy.

No, I don't listen to any of those bands. I don't listen to Manson for that matter. I know he leaked one of his songs called Dead God which sounds suspiciously like Manson.

I remember when that happened too. I don't think his voice is very similar to Manson's though. I'm glad you can be one of the people that doesn't listen to those bands without blatantly trying to insult their fans.
