Mostly poetry, which I've been doing since I was little. I do enjoy short stories, I've made attempts, I've not completed any though. Mostly my writings are essays though as they are of use to me, the poetry only comes in handy in literature classes.

A series of short stories. A longer story, possibly a novel. Poetry now and then. Get to it, boy.

I'm writing compositions and poetry for my band's demo/debut album. I'm trying to keep the songs very different and unique, all the while still retaining nostalgic 'nods' to certain bands and songs. I've included songs about prejudice, stereotyping, human cruelty, and an instrumental, so far. Does anyone have suggestions for the subject of my next song?

Surviving the pressures of the demands of the outside world.

That's the one that immediately springs to mind. It's been one of those days...

make that 6 articles....remind me never to go into towns populated by Republicans. Something about those towns festers with a self-loathing that makes me wanna go in and write about the side-effects.....

Now on to the youth group 'street theatre' script.

Busy busy busy.

I love it really!

Thery liked the script! Woohoo1 I just have to meet up with them next week to discuss.

Aaaaaaand ... back-to-reality.

Here begins the usual run of changes, changes-backs (?) and total rewrites.

Great News!

That's good news about the script. Enjoy each step forward along the way, I say.

I'm in the same position, currently. An agent/development exec has been reading my stuff, liked my writing but not crazy about the scripts (stories) he had read, so he asked me to meet with him and bring some ideas. We went through them and he really really liked one in particular. Then he asked me to write that one because he wants to go to a MAJOR studio to pitch it. Sooo... for the past four months, I was eking this damned thing out, five pages at a time (long story to that) and FINALLY got the first real draft complete(!).

Now I, too, play the waiting game...

It's 2.11 am and I'm working on the next full-length play. Aiming to get it finished by my birthday. Especially as it's about a woman who's worried about turning 40 (she feels she hasn't even grown up yet)... Still, better go to bed soon. I have a singing lesson in, ooooh, 8 hours.

Still got 15 pages to go. Have spontaneously moved sideways onto another project. I've been asked to put something on for the drama section of the local music festival (Guilfest, for anyone who's about), so I'm dusting off a fourhander that only saw the light of day once. My incentive? All those involved get a ticket to the festival and... as if I needed further encouragement, top of the bill is Gary Numan!

Which is why I'm typing like crazy...!

*passes spooky matchsticks* Careful with those, luv. They're flammable (kinda...) What are you doing for the Guilfest drama section?

AND the fairy tales have been abandoned (shut up), and the new one is... nothing. That's right. I'm taking a break. Then I'm gonna put all other ideas on ice until I finish the five fucking novels I currently have going at various stages of completion... 'cause this is just ridiculous.

Writing practice essays on Industrial Conflict for Business Studies.
I really need to practice my essay writing, it's really annoying having an illogical mind nothing turns up at the right time.

You sound like me, Wise Child. I usually have a few projects on the go, the theory being that whatever mood I'm in, there's always something to match that I can be getting on with... Well, it's a theory...

Thanks for the matchsticks (*inserts*), hunny.

Well, if all goes well, we're doing a play called "Man in Question", and the blurb we sent in was:
"A newly qualified criminal psychologist interviews a presumed serial killer. But he's not what he appears - nor is the apparently harmless old man who seems to have lost his way. And how are the three of them linked?"

It's a black comedy (what else, huh?) inspired by my time in psychology, with (I hope) a healthy dollop of Orton and Monty Python. I just have to find out whether we can use a cap gun...!

Double drat! It's 14th-16th July (hey, I just spotted - you're a July baby too!).

The site (and my apologies for being a bit shilly here) is http://www.guilfest.co.uk/.

I'd be really happy for you to read it, but can I get it to you any way other than posting it online?
