On topic; Cannabis. I know it's not a physical addiction, but the dependance is there. Recently cut down a lot though

I get this, totally. I guess your first step should be a week without drinking. If this seems unduly difficult to you the second it's suggested, why is that - because you have an active social life centered around getting drunk? Because you get bored/lonely/depressed? etc. If you initally think, "hey, cake-walk", but find it harder as the week wears on, you probably don't have a huge problem so much as the potential for one, in which case, see it through and try to rethink your lifestyle at the end of it.

Personally, I go through phases with drinking, ranging from shaking (only slightly, but still scares the shit out of me) the first day I wake up sober if it's been a really bad few weeks, to feeling bored, depressed or just thinknig, "Man, this music'd sound so much better if I had a couple of whiskies". I can usually manage a week without it being too much hassle though, and do so now and again when my body starts screaming. Trick is to read a lot, and it's the only time you'll ever catch me playing video games - just something that COMPLETELY occupies your mind. If writing works for you, try that, although I often find it just mkes me crave a drink even more.

If you continue to drink a lot, try and stay in good shape otherwise - it really makes a difference with the hangovers and your general ability to function. However obviously the ideal would be to check it before it gets to the point where not drinking at all becomes unthinkable - and believe me, I really, really wish I'd paid more attention to the downside before getting so dependent, same as with smoking. If you have any questions you'd rather not ask in public, drop me a pm. Better now than later if you really think you have a problem. Occasional bright spots aside, it's not much fun.

Why oh why do we not get awesome things like that in England?!??!

On topic, I think I have a cheesecake problem. When I'm not eating it, I'm looking up recipes and staring longingly at pictures of it.

You should make some, they really aren’t very difficult and they taste awesome

Also I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with an unhealthy love of cheesecake.

I will look into making them, I have plenty of time for baking and other related activities.

No, you are not alone in loving cheesecake. I tease myself constantly with new recipes and pictures of it, my addiction is so great.

I have to admit I do miss cheesecake. Apparently vegan cheesecake is no problem but I just don't wanna make one from scratch. I wish a vegan bakery would open here so I wouldn't have to spend so much time in the kitchen sometimes.

Snickerdoodles are pretty easy though, I was thinking about making some this week. The two foods I'm fanatic and addicted to though are falafel and popcorn. Not together, of course.

I'm addicted to cheese. I cut off a piece pretty much every time I enter the kitchen.

Tea/coffee, chocolate, nicotine.

I replaced one of my worse addictions with string cheese. Yum. ^_^

I'm probably a borderline alcoholic, but I believe my only real addiction is nicotine.

Collecting tools. I mean, how many volt-ohm-milliammeters does one need? I even keep one in the glove box of the car, you know, in case I need to measure the battery. I have four oscilloscopes. And don't even get me started on how many Craftsman 14 mm sockets or wrenches, screwdrivers etc. I have. I gave a complete tool box to Mrs. Humane and said, "These are your tools, use them and leave mine alone." I might give her a drill press of her own since she keeps using mine.

Pretty serious ass addiction I'd say.

Well that isn't too bad as long as you actually know how to use them all. There are quite a few guys out there who collect tools but would be completely clueless if you asked them to make, alter, or fix anything.

HP, you use four oscilloscopes at home? Or just collect them?

And yeah, hummus is awesome.

Falafel without hummus is a sad thing indeed.

That's what she said. Bwahahahahaha!!!!
No for real, sorry dude, I couldn't help it!!

Ironically, I wasn't even thinking about this when I posted that, but "That's what SHE said" really IS an addiction. Once you get into saying, it's hard to quit, because you KNOW when it would be the perfect moment, and you just can't help yourself. I seriously can't believe this--it took saying it in this thread to realise I should list it here!

Otherwise, caffeine[coffee, specifically], and my Girl, whom I'll love forever. <3 <3 <3

Also, I don't know if it counts, but when I get to writing(pretty much ANYTHING), I CANNOT STOP no matter how hard I try, untill I feel as if I'm finished. I'll seriously write six pages on a two-page report--because I can't help myself!!!!

Oh. Laaaame. Though it is now officially on my to do list to have some crazy love-session in the center of Stonehenge during a lunar eclipse.

Also, man reverse cowgirl is lame, no opportunities for kissing.

Its my least favourite position. Its not the no kissing thing, doggy style is probably my favourite, but it just seems so awkward.
