Goth versus Emo versus Fad Diversionary tactic thread for Jacking

Every other fucking thread here has a what is Gothy MacGotherson post or thirteen in it. It gets tiresome. The clothes, the look, what bands are what, the fad, the lifestyle.

Quit defining and start living. Christ. Actions over words, motions over petty, redundant, repetitive, redundant arguments.

You're goth. We fucking felt the Clue by Four.

You may not sacrifice animals but you sure as fuck beat dead horses. Spooky dead horses that may or not be goth depending on whether the dead horse died of melancholy or overexposure to HIM.

So, My rant over-

Here's the thread to take the same fucking argument to instead of jacking every other fucking thread.

Well, once more; this is a gothic forum, what were you expecting?
Go to a metal forum and you'll see the same.
Plus, we only spend about as much time defining 'goth' as you do complaining about it, so I guess it all evens out.

Wow. You're apparently content and happy about this. Why bother posting, I suppose, since it is all the same.

Yes, Gothic. Not Goth. I was expecting something more than a cliqueish pissing match, something with more posts in the literature bucket than fashion.

I know how it is here, I know the fucking game. And I am keeping this in the proper forum. I just use my posts like votes. Only where I want them.

Geez, don't get upset, I was just being brusquely humorous.

Even though it's a joke, it's completely true.

So yes, why even bother posting? Especially since you hate it here so much.

Why don't you just leave already and quit your kvetching.

Likewise, Jillian.

Tonal language meaning is lost in text form, it seems. No worries. I wasn't meaning to be harsh, just all eye-rolly.

Seriously, this last week has just had more of the gothier than goth and overly defining etc etc than usual. It's been *like this* for years to some degree, but it's just been really bad this week, all the same.

Molly, it probably comes in phases. Like a couple have said, new people come in and they have questions.

I apologize. I'm not much of a reader and currently the majority of my art is worn on my sleeve if you will.

And I would write more poetry, but it seems that I do the majority of that on my PC off line or on Myspace. Not only that but EVERYONE here is a poet to some degree.

I for one, wouldn't mind having more discussions on alternative religions and their mythos.

I think some do not want to post in the Literature threads because they want to avoid getting flamed by you-know-who.

Well, they can put Sprightdemort (he who shall only be partially named for clarification purposes- I wonder if, Like Betelguise, he shows up when you say his name three times.) on their ignore list like us big people.

And, no offense to anyone here, but eet's de Interwebs, why the personal offense at being flamed by him? Constructive criticism is a good thing- in a negative or positive criticism. I dont' believe in trashing it all anymore without saying *why*.

Back to the point-

Boobies.

ROFL!!!

Side note: I wouldn't want to literally beat a dead horse. Poor horsey. I don't want a horsey to die, and I sureashell wouldn't disrespect an already dead one. ::sobs::

You obviously have never talked to a group of people about what goth is about... It pretty much allways ends up as a pissing match...

I don't think I'll ever get it either. When I was in high school, you were either weird or normal. There really was no differentiation between degrees of "weird". All the Metalheads, what we now know as "Goths", and anyone who didn't exactly fit the norm were all lumped together. Well, atleast that's how it was for my experience. I actually never even heard the term Goth until I was well out of high school, and just within the last few months heard the term Emo.

Emo was an offshoot of the post punk movement just like goth was, think of it as goth's poor excuse for a whiny little sister. It focuses on the bad parts of life, and its pretty much just a contest at whose life sucks the most, most self proclaimed emo kids live in suburbs with very nice parents, there is the odd kid though with reason to be sad, they listen to emotional music, and are a stain on the goth culture, but on the upside, they make us look even scarier.
