Elderly Woman Left to Die Under Britain’s Death Care System
ditor’s note: Big mouth Ed Schultz and other so-called progressives say the “public option” is the only way to save health care. Some of them say the “death panels” were invented by rightwing conspiracy theorists. They often cite England’s health care system as an example of what we’ll get here in the states if Obamacare is passed.
Well, here is a story about Britain’s health care system. An elderly woman left to die because doctors determined she didn’t have long to live. Nine months later she is alive and her family is outraged.
Are we ready for this sort of death care in America?

So England has a 'deathcare system' because they didn't prolong a plan with a 3% recovery rate on this woman with Pneumonia, one of the most common illnesses discarded as a 'pre-existing condition' here in America?
So the daughter fights against the hospital to prolong the treatment on her mother; a fight she would not have won had she fought against private insurance firms rather than national healthcare.
You're not even fucking telling us to choose the lesser evil. You're fucking choosing the greater evil because the other option is not absolutely perfect.

I live in England. What, do you think that the streets are strewn with rotting corpses of elderly people flung out of the hospital windows to evade the paperwork and the money out of the budget? Our healthcare is a damn sight better than you get in America, and if you think that the NHS cut corners with this elderly woman then you've got no understanding of how health insurance companies work. I mean, the NHS doesn't have a profit to make anually, it's tax-subsidised: can you say the same of the people in charge of taking care of you when the shit goes down on your side of the pond?

England's healthcare- we'll look after you, for free or as cheaply as we possibly can, if you have even a remotely reasonable chance of survival with our help (anything more than 20-30%, sometimes even less).
America's healthcare- see the original "Deathrace 2000" for further details.

Indeed. This does put things in a different light. Thank GOD the healthcare in the USA doesn't refuse to treat people who would almost certainly live if given proper care simply on the basis of them costing too much money to save.
