People with disabilities such as none working legs would get offended if you called them a cripple. I don't see how something being true in your mind makes it ok to be a jerk and then blame it on being honest.

You people crack me up. Seriously! HOW MANY fat threads have been started? Just 'fat' threads in general either in acceptance or abhorrence.

There are certain words that really seem to make you all explode. "FAT" being one of them.

I'm sure by now, we're all quite familiar with each others opinions on fat, obese, piggish, whale-like, skeletal, emaciated, sucked-up, scrawny people. So let's be done with it.

The only thing I have to say about Absynthdelight (whom I'm quite sure is 12 or close to it) is that as a new person they should have searched to see if a previous topic on the same subject had already been posted, but as they obviously had not bothered to do so, I'm banking on a terribly ignorant child or a troll. Take your pick. Either way- this is stupid. Be done with it.

Calling a fat person fat should not offend them. However, they do get offended if you insult and/or make fun of it. Also, not all fat people want to go down in weight, some of them prefer to be fat. I think that they should at least try to go down in weight, by dieting and exercising. Or at lest avoiding fast food.

Seriously, they don't have to aim for the perfect body. But they should lose a little weight for the sake of their health and be moderately chubby instead of a huge fat-fuck.

When I was a kid i used to be chubby. It wasn't my fault that I was fat, I remember that for a long time I had an allergy to chocolate. It used to kill my self-esteem when someone called me fat, because when someone says that to your face, I highly doubt that they mean it in a nice way.

When I got older I did loose a lot of weight and I was soo proud of myself for doing that.

So before you call someone fat, try to understand. Maybe its not because they are eating a lot. Its not right to be that shallow.

YAY! Go honeythorn! I've had some sort of fever/virus thing, so I haven't weighed myself in a while. But every pound lost is motivation. For that matter, when a weight is maintained for a while, that's healthy too. I was a chubby kid. I should post a pic later or something, cuz I was REALLY chubby. I'm still a bit pudgy and quite sensitive about my extra pounds because people still tease me about not being skinny. People are sensitive about weight because they're made fun of for not conforming to some shallow ideal of beauty. ::sigh:: Why can't people just stop bothering anyone who's different than them and appreciate someone for being an interesting and beautiful human being?

Because everyone judges the book by the cover. People don't like to admit to it, but they all do it. I do it. I admit it freely. No-one goes " oh my god that man/woman is fucking hideous/fat....I bet they're SUCH a nice person...I'll go and chat them up.." It doesn't occur ( or at least if it does then I doubt it happens all that often.

There is nothing beautiful about being big/fat. NOTHING. There is nothing beautiful about cellulite, rolls and rolls of flesh, folliculitis, sore spots, not being able to fit into the seats on rollercoasters. I'd like to see a man with a genuine passion for that. He'd have to be sectioned.

just about every fat person i have met, has a huge attitude problem.
i have noticed that if i have a dissagreement with a average built person, they are more likely to talk it out in a civilized manor. but, if i dissagree with a fat person they are more likely to blow their stack.
the women i've met talk more like hairy chested lumber jacks than civilized women. please tell me why.

Come to Samoa. They love their large ladies there. The women love large men as well, and we're not talking about just the broad shoulders.

At least, this is what I have been told by my mother's partner.. He may have been pulling my leg at the time but seeing as the Samoan population here are mostly overweight, I could see some validity in what he said.

Fat men only say they like fat women because equally fat or fatter women is usually all they can get. And Vice versa . They know they have little chance ( but not impossible before anyone goes off on a correction spree ) With a slimmer man/woman, so they placate their feelings of inadequacy and self loathing by claiming to love bigger partners.

Let me reiterate that... nobody wants to be morbidly obese. Is that better? I highly doubt you can find someone who is obese (not just a little overweight/chubby) who wouldn't prefer to be thinner.

And no, it is not a crime to feel good about yourself.

Sometimes that's easier to say than do.

For instance, my mother is very overweight, but there isn't really anything she can do about it. Her diet is very restricted because she's diabetic, so she never eats junk, and she doesn't overeat.
She can't exercise because she has extremely serious back and neck conditions.
