Hi, I like donuts

Well I'm not too good with introductions, or expressing myself in general, but I'll have a go

I've never really given too much thought to whether I am goth or not. I am me. Other people can label me if they wish to. So why am I here? I'm not sure myself, but it certainly seems to be a great community, full of people with similar interests to me. Hopefully I'll be making some new friends here

I'm Rob, an oldish (how many times have I been told I'm too old to dress like that?) bloke from the UK, recently been made redundant from my teaching job following the closure of the company. At least a can wear and act how I want now! Thats the main thing I miss from being a little kid; do what you want without people judging you.

There is nothing I like more than riding my trials bike (not motor) with my mates, and generally hanging. Making music is a close second - Jazz! I play the trumpet in a local band. Interesting that the music I make is worlds apart from the music I listen to. Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy

I like to read, as long at its nothing like real life, like Sci-fi or Fantasy. Books are always so much better than real life. I think my favorite author would be Terry Brooks (Shannara owns!) or David Eddings (Belgariad!!!). My favourite films are similar to my books, with the additions of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events', and 'End of Days' (although not an Arnie fan).

No thought has been given to what music would be played at my wedding, because I somehow doubt there will ever be one. And for my funeral, why do I care? I'm dead! I guess some of the music I had made with my own band would be a nice sendoff.

The mannor of my death has recieved some thought, and I can say with absolute certainty that I do NOT want to die burning, drowning, or of old age. When I go, I want to be doing something fun or interesting, around people I like or love. Don't we all want that?

I can honestly say I don't care about my casket. I intend to be cremated anyway, so anything that burns.

I've been to university for 7 years before starting work, and it was the best time of my life! I wish I could be a student forever. I have a degree in maths, and a post graduate research degree also. Damn, I'm not a geek, honest!

Anyway, thats me. I'll see you around

Hello. I also like donuts. The chocolate covered ones with the many sprinkles are my favorite. I despise jelly-filled ones, though.

Happy welcome.

The goth's greatest enemy?

Not the neanderthal jock. Not the chav, nor the conservative prick. Not even the sun, because that's what God made sunblock for.

No, my friends. The real enemy of all goths well and truly is...

POWDERED SUGAR. (dunt-dunt-dunnnnn!!)

Welcome. By the way, as I recall, people judged me even more for what I did when I was a little kid. At least now they figure I'm old and set in my ways, so they usually don't bother.

Either Boston or Bavarian Cream donuts, please. I hate jelly ones, too, Clockwork.

Welcome, Rob! (Yes, you are a geek! But that's something to take pride in. )

It's a donut that is usually frosted on top with chocolate, and has a thick cream filling (sort of like a chocolate éclair).

It's made after the Boston cream pie (named after Boston, Massachusetts USA, where it was created), and the cream is made with egg yolks, so it has a yellowish color to it.

By mentioning that you like donuts, you have ingeniously aligned yourself with a sure-fire way to trigger everyone's positive feelings and thus associate yourself with goodness. You must be an aspiring marketing representative. Welcome.

MY favorite donuts (in no particular order):

Devil's food chocolate
Glazed
Powdered Cinnamon
Plain Old Fashioned
Chocolate Old Fashioned
Lemon filled powdered sugar
Chocolate Eclair (OK, technically not a donut, but Black Butterfly mentioned it first so nyah)
Cinnamon Rolls
Sticky Buns rolled in Pecans
anything lemony
anything with chocolate
anything with cinnamon
anything doughy
As long as I have a cup of black coffee to go with it!

Oh, erm, yes. There's more to it than the donut bit. In response to the rest, I think I would have loved having you as a teacher.
