That slideshow was really interesting, thanks!
I didn't know The Raven was dedicated to Elizabeth Barrett Browning and that they corresponded about it.

That's cool. Was he famous when he was alive?

Yes.
(this text is extra goff since it's black and utterly pointless)

I shall celebrate with a day of being shut in and going slowly mad, and later at night I shall watch The Masters Of Horror's version of The Black Cat ^_^

Wow, I think I'll celebrate my reading some Poe. I think the Cask of Amontillado.

OOOHHH! Yeah! I saw "The Pit and the Pendulum" back when I was in the first grade, and when I painted the scene in water color the next day at school, and my teacher asked what it was and I told her, it was the first time I had ever seen my teacher frown at me. But she didn't say anything. Just walked away whilst giving me the fish-eye.

Ooooh really? *brings out raven-shaped chocolate cake*
"The Pit and the Pendulum" was a fun story. I should find my Poe book and read a story...
My favourite so far though is "Silence - A Fable." I did a painting based on it this fall. http://preussischblau.110mb.com/Full...rk/Silence.jpg
Funny/interesting that I happened to do it just over a month before his 200th birthday...
