Now, I've seen pants that I thought were pretty cool. Anyway, what do you guys think of Tripp Pants? MallGoth or acceptable?
I can't actually post an Image but type in Tripp Pants in google or see em at hot topic..

My daughter went through about 30 seconds where she thought they were cool and wanted a pair, then her brain caught up with her and she said, "Emos wear those, I'll just do black or gray jeans." LOL

I bought a pair though, not the usual kind that show up in the search, but black skinny Tripp pants. It was the dressing room's fault! I tried the pants on, paired with a corset, saw how I looked in them, and threw all my money at the cashier. Never again. I still love them, especially with my knee-high boots (the main reason I got them), but if I'd known I would have to wear a belt cinched so tight I can't breathe, just to keep the back from sliding down to reveal 6 inches of middle-aged buttcrack, with anything other than a corset in those pants being very unflattering, I would have just said no - or at least not unless I can't find anything cheaper!

If you like them, wear them. Mallgoth is as mallgoth does - long as you don't act like a moron you can wear whatever you like, with nobody worth a shit judging you for it, as far as I'm concerned.

Spiked ones are a bit of a bad idea on a date. Being impaled whilst sitting in a cinema can kill the mood.

Otherwise, wear whatever the hell you like. Mallgoth is stupid.

I just want some pants that are interesting.. because here it's too hot to wear a trenchcoat (damn australia...)
I was actually just thinking i could get some cargo pants from eBay or somewhere else and put chains on them.. it wouldn't be that hard.
Besides, I've only got bandshirts pretty much and a single pair of black pants (usually wear denim). I just reckon it looks boring. I might buy em.

What part of Australia? Melbourne is freezing at the moment...

Anyway I'm 100% against all forms of baggy clothing, so my opinion on those Tripp pants is NO NO NO NO NO. Splatter some cheap (tight) black jeans with household bleach and you'll have something more interesting. A good pair of boots over such jeans doesn't hurt either.

I like tripp pants, and have a pair. I don't think they look mallgoth, so long as you don't wear a baggy band hoodie or "crow-esque" eye makeup with them.

Wear whatever you like, because it's how you act that's important.

I duno about acceptable or not. I find Tripp pants to be aesthetically very displeasing.

But obviously it's up to you

In response to Cicero:
I Live about 300km out of Adelaide. Shithouse city with like... no Goths? At least none at my school.

And also, I love the baggy clothes. I would never wear skinnies.. I'll leave that to my girlfriend.

By the way, does anyone know if Hot Topic posts to Australia?

I have something similar (bondage trousers really but they look about the same) in black and pinstripe.
They are probably my fave trousers out of them all. But I have a really baggy pair of Criminal Damage ones which I'm not too keen on wearing in this heat. Right now I am wearing denim River Island jeans (second hand, Oooh right 5 points!) They have a rip in on one knee. They look hawt on me, Ahem, 'nuff 'bout me.
Where what they hell you want. If it makes you feel confidant and comfortable that's all that matters.

Eek, even Adelaide seems like the middle of nowhere to me, haha. I feel your pain though - I used to live in Malaysia, which in goth terms is a lifeless desert.

Just check the Hot Topic website for their shipping arrangements, but be prepared to pay a high price. I think your DIY idea would be a way better option.

I used to spend disgusting amounts of money on clothes that didn't do me any justice. Man, I wish I embraced DIY YEARS ago.

Trust me, get into DIY and you'll never look at Hot Topic ever again.

I don't think, necessarily, that they're mall goth, but the really baggy ones are hideous.

I totally agree. I used to be huge into all the hot topic stuff. Hugely baggy pants, random pointy things in places you wouldn't expect etc. The thing with DIY is you get EXACTLY what you want, not a close approximation. Buy some black jeans, rip 'em up, splash bleach all over them, or simply add chains. Go nuts, if you go to a thrif shop, you could end up with an entire wardrobe for what you'd pay for a single pair of Tripp Pants shipped from the states.

Tripp pants and trenchcoats are as expensive as they are horrible.

But I have something to ask, to Kristin; was it your opinion or your daughter's that "emos wear tripp pants"?

It was something she said, I hadn't seen them before then. I don't know if she's right or wrong, but she went through a phase where she was scared to death that anything goth she wore would mislabel her as an emo. Sheesh. LOL

I used to wear them to school a lot in years nine and ten. As our unform wasn't strict. White tops black pants or shorts or you could wear the black tartan skirts.

Strangely enough, I have a pair. Granted they're my ex's and around 3 sizes too big, I think I'm going to cut them up and turn them into a bag. It'll be cool.

Ah ok. They probably are pretty poorly made, especially comparing the quality to the price.
