Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Carcass
Fathers of goregrind/grindcore, great stuff. I have the first two albums, and after that I don't know, turned too death metal for me, but still good stuff. So opinions?
Also what do you think of grindcore in general? Most people think it's a metal genre, but it's not really, it's more of super sped up brutalized crust with a good dose of metal.

Love Carcass, especially Heartwork...although I often forget how great some tracks from Swansong really are.
Didn't they just recently do a reunion tour or something?

Yes, they just went on tour and I was't able to go. :[
Gah. I'm super upset now.
But on a sidenote, I get to see Napalm Death tonight.

Are you going to Maryland Deathfest in May? It's right next door for you after all.

I'd fucking love to go, but I haven't really got the money. Plus, I'm starting work around that time, and they probably wouldn't be too pleased if I took off the first weekend.

Too late to edit:
Fuck it. I've decided that if I can find somebody to go with me, I'm calling off work and kicking some ass in Maryland.

Xombie: Lucky! ND is a great band, but only the stuff with Bill and Lee on it, then they kinda sucked. I'm excited for seeing Amebix this summer.
PortraitOfSanity: My favorite album is Reek of Putrefaction, but Symphonies is a close second.

I think Symphonies is my favorite, too.
Side-conversation:
I dominated the Napalm Death show.
Fuck yyyyyyyyyyyyyeah.

I love Gnet because I learn about so many bands I never heard of before.
Carcass was very interesting. I love the descriptive lyrics of the Reek of Putrefaction album.

What I don't understand about Carcass is why they're called "melodic death metal". Melodic? What the hell are people thinking?

Humane: Great stuff eh?
Draconysius: I agree here, but I don't really like anything after the first two albums anyway.
