Talking Tool & A Perfect Circle

Anyone a fan of Tool & A Perfect Circle? Tool is my favorite band ever and APC comes close as my third favorite band. Both band's music are awsome! does anyone agree?

My boyfriend introduced me to APC. I really like it. I don't think it's my favorite of all time, but it's definitely an excellent band.

Why do people include Tool and APC together, or compare them? There completly different to each other. Maynard is the only thing they have in common.

With that being said, I don't exactly "love" either band. But I have a lot of respect for them as they are very talented. I actually prefer APC more than Tool though.

I love them both The bands sound rather different, but Maynard's voice fits the two perfectly. Though if I had to choose one, I'd go with A Perfect Circle.

I saw A Perfect Circle right before their first release, they opened for NIN, what an awesome fucking show. I've seen them three times since then. I try never to miss a Tool show, I've been a fan of their music since the Opiate ep. Three Libras is an awesome song. One of my personal favorites. Manard fucking rules! I like them even more now that they have James Iha as well. They are just an awe inspiring band, both of them.

I like them both but not enough to comment their music personally.
Although I do like both of the bands videos.
Especially `Schism` by Tool. =]

I think they sound very similiar. Tool is kind of darker, and APC maybe a little more expiremental? But the sound is very similiar.

I especially like APC's "Blue" and "The Noose." I used to favor Tool, until their recent album "10,000 Days." His voice has changed drastically, sounding incredibly raspy, almost as if he's been drinking for a long time. Anyone else see this?

I think his lyrics in his new album didn't portray a lot of thought and creativity, it seemed as if he just wrote down whatever came to mind, in a rush to put out an album to satisfy his fans.

I'm a little bit ignorant on something here. Why are Tool and A Perfect Circle, always grouped together? I mean, they don't sound similiar to me, they don't appear similiar to me, they're in different genres, and they only share one common band member.

As for my opinion one the bands: They're okay, but I haven't really heard enough to say I vehemtly like or hate either of them.

Love Tool, I like APC but it sounds like a watered down version of Tool, to me anyway.

Never really got into APC, but Tool are just so wonderfully weird. Who else talks about black magic and area 51?

I'm a fan of both APC and Tool because of my mom. I don't really see how the two bands are always put together. All they've got incommon is the singer.

Ah, Tool and APC dont even soung anything alike. Different genres. Not really a big fan of APC. As a guitar player, Adam Jones really inspires me.

Ahh Tool definitely cheer me up. Hatred for the world figures on the top of my list I suppose. Songs like Aenima, Euology, and pretty much the Aenima CD is just awesome.

"Fuck L Ron Hubbard and fuck all his clones,
fuck all these gun toting hip gangsta wannabes,
fuck retro anything fuck your tattoos,
fuck all you junkies and fuck your short memory,"

This whole CD was dedicated to the great, late standup comedian, Bill Hicks. Anyone who doesnt know Bill Hicks MUST check his work out. He was/is forever my idol.

I will be checking out Tool live in concert in London today. Woohoo!

I love both. Ćnima by Tool and Mer De Noms by A Perfect Circle are some of the best albums ever. Love the vocals of Maynard.

I saw Tool live this summer, amazing experience. I remember at the same festival me and some others went around with "Ćenema" playing outload on a cellphone, and off course: with us singing along walking around in the city. When we came to the verse "Some same armageddon will come soon / Certanly hope it will" some old lady walking pass us stops and say "No I really hope not!" to us. Ahh... good times. =)

LostAndCrazy: Yeah, he's a genious. I don't only see him as a great comedian, but he's a philosopher.

Both have been placed among my favorite bands at one point or another, though neither really strikes my fancy at the moment. I own 13th Step by APC and Lateralus by Tool.
