I don't really know you but you sound like a splendid person and know if you ever want to talk I'll listen, attentively, and feed you cyber snacks, such as virtual chocolate. (By the this goes for anyone) I have an open door policy on such predicaments.

You know you could always make them pay attention. Say something you know will make them go, "What?!" and sieze the oppurtunity and talk.

And if you have so-called "friends" (or family) that have always bitched at you when they have had a bad time but skip out on you when you need their time? Tell them to shove it or (better idea) tell them that hey they're never there when you need them but you're there when they need you, and that you don't like that.

Anyway if I sound patronizing, I'm sorry. A bunch of people I know have the same issue.

I feel that way a lot too. Then I am often reminded of that quote from the clash song "lost in the supermarket." But I think everyone feels that way. It's not the same world it used to be. People are too wrapped up in themselves to care or notice others. We all suffer due to it. I understand how you feel. (or at least I think I do.) I've been betrayed by lovers and friends alike. But I guess it all just makes those few people who are loyal that much more special.

I think the real problem of people is that they´re always classifying the others... They´re always creating stereotypes and that´s the reazon rejection is always there...
