Um, I am not seeing the issue at all with an 18 year old hitting on a 15 year old. I would be willing to bet it is very normal and an average thing to see going on everywhere, everyday. Am I the only one that this does not seem unusual or immoral to? I mean I know you think the world of this girl and she has dated other guys while you were with her, etc. but that is not this guys fault and it does not make him a disturbed person preying on children...he may have very little tact but some people are tactless, just how it is.

(I've been in a similar situation where someone alleged that I brag about watching porn. It was bullshit because I don't like porn, but if they prove it then they do get them involved for "your own benefit".)

I would love to know where you got this from. No, I'm not being sarcastic, I'd seriously like to know. In my book its pedophilia if someone wants to have sex with a child, but the legal definition of a child varies from place to place. For instance, here in the UK the age of consent for sex is 16 (even though you don't reach your legal age of consent for voting, etc, until you are 18). But 15 is NOT illegal in some place, I am aware. The dictionary definition does not mention any age ratio, or the necessity for this to have occured pre-puberty.
I think the issue lies with if the "adult" is aware that the person of their desire is under the legal age of consent. If they think that they are over this age, then the intent to "abuse" the child/adolescent is not there. But if they are aware of the age of the person, then the intent to abuse is there.
On this particular issue, I'm not sure if it has been made clear if this 18 year old was aware of this girl's age or not. Or if her age makes her "off limits" legally.
Also, the comment he made about the seven year old was very disturbing. I don't care whether or not he meant it seriously, its not something that anyone should joke about. The abuse of children is not funny.
Now don't think that I'm not aware of the blurred lines with this issue. I looked a lot older than my years from a young age. I was "hit" upon by various older men, some only a few years older like in their late teens, and some a LOT older (yuck!) The intent of the laws are to protect what they consider to be "children" from both themselves and from others because they are not considered to be mature enough to make informed choices.
I'm sure that a lot of my comments may cause further debate.
PS - Like I said previously, I really hope that the report to the police was not purely done out of spite. If you really think he meant it, then fine, you did the right thing.
