I find the casting of this show to be somewhat problematic, particularly the females.

Now I also have a problem with
Shane's casting (Shane is described as looking "
Like Patrick Warburton" by Kirkman in WTD's script, but I don't MIND them taking a different direction with his character, aside from looking decidedly NOT from Kentucky, it doesn't really hurt anything story-wise.
The same is NOT true for the Women of WTD's cast. In the comic it was very refreshing to see women as actual, real people, as opposed to the overblown sexpots most comics populate their female cast with...on the show? Yeah, they look like models. Not actual, beautiful young women from Georgia and Kentucky, but actresses from L.A.
It's nice for fanservice, but lessens the real emotional impact of the storyline when AMC plays to this aesthetic appeal to draw in viewers. Honestly HBO has shown with series like Carnival and Deadwood, that the audience responds more to REAL women in gritty dramatic stories than CW style cookie cutter tinseltown models.
It's a minor point, but MAN is it annoying.
