Obama said in the healthcare reform address that he was going to increase taxes on the rich to cover this (not enough in my opinion, but any tax increase on the ultra-wealthy is a good step to me).

I guess we'll have to be grateful this tax will be to the rich, so this average tax will be around 3% of their income.

Well I was at a valero gas station this morning, and while I was pumping gas they had a big ass sign on the pump saying that due to the cap and trade bill we would probably end up having to pay 77 cents to a dollar more per gallon.

Anyway, the sales price hike was used as a scare tactic in our last election, and it was pretty effective in killing Dion's chances even when a tax offset was promised for individuals. The thing is, something has to be done and a carbon tax or cap and trade is pretty effective.
