Winkle Pickers
I've been thinking about buying some winkle pickers, but I have two concerns.
http://www.dracinabox.com/more/on/details/00719
1. I have no idea where to buy them (a US store is preferable)
2. Not that I'm really concerned, I'd just like to know if there really border on being androgynous or not..

I have a pair very similar to those, made by David. I wear them to work when I have to wear a suit. The suit says "corporate conformist" but if they look down a little glimmer of my personality peeks through.
I want to get a more radical looking pair. Jillian posted a site that had some awesome ones but I lost the link.
EDIT: Forgot to say where I bought them: Macy's. Yep. Off the shelf.

Hmm. Now I know what winkle pickers are.
If I hadn't seen the picture...
You know what? Nevermind. I'll go now.

Beautiful. I wouldn't call them androgynous all on their own, of course, just depends what you wear them with. They definitely look masculine to me.
And I guess you could try your luck looking around local stores, but who can say if you'll find a pair closely similar.

I prefer the ones that are like Pixie shoes. Are they winkle pickers?
I was thinking of getting something like these, but I don't like the coffins on them :[.

I think they are cute, and you should get them. They are not androgynous to me.

Winkle Pickers in the US
Blarggg, I used to be able to get Na Na's in LA or SF, back in the day, (oops, just dated myself) I want some new ones, Na Na does not make pointy boots any more, and I can only find English websites to support my pointy fetish. Is there really no US resource for winkle picker type boots and shoes? At least they are being made again. Just when I thought goth was dead.. (well, I do live in Seattle now..)
The vixens and Angles ones are, eh, ..not what I am looking for...

I would love to have a pair of winkle pickers...of course, they would have to be in an obnoxious primary color or animal print.
Lord, I dress garishly.

Eh I've been considering getting a pair for myself, as soon as I have an appropriate outfit to go with it. But it could be years before that ever happens.

Yeah. You completely overreacted.
Good for you.
I meant dressing like an adult, because you made a joke about dressing garishly, which is traditionally unconservative, and therefore traditionally younger looking.
