Are the reviews really any surprise? The trailers were a dead giveaway that this movie was only going to be about the eye candy/action, the commercials sort of reminded me of that one Michael Bay Victoria secret commercial.

Desp, thanks. Even with all the reviews I was on the fence about seeing it ... I'm not opposed to mindless eye-candy (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow comes to mind) from time to time. That review was 1) the best one I've read, 2) probably more entertaining than the movie and 2) in one question and answer (the last one, actually) sufficient to make my mind up.
The film will hit NetFlix eventually.

Yeah, waiting for netflix. Or for it to be another addition to Showgirls nights.
Although I wouldn't go so far I think to call this the most reviled movie of all time. No way it can beat Manos: Hands Of Fate. Or Battlefield Earth if we're being contemporary. Red Riding Hood is doing worse on Rotten Tomatoes.

It can't be as bad as (could be a whole new thread) Plan 9 From Outer Space, Ishtar, Bangkok Dangerous, Big Mamas: Like Father, Like Son ... and so on. But that doesn't mean much.
