I doubt it, there are lots of really obscure ones. I know the Wikipedia has a few of them in one thing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohawk_hairstyle
That's nowhere near all of them, though.
And it ignores my awesome, one of a kind fuhrerhawk. :O

It's to late. I'm pretty sure you have to now, we've talked about it to much at this point.

Yeah, if you don't want the trouble of a deathawk or mohawk, you could keep your regular hair, let it grow to medium length, and tease it up like Robert Smith's hair. That's the way I'd go if I ever got tired of my 'hawk.
I may get slime-green highlights in mine soon. What you guys think?

Ah, and about goth... The music's pretty much the sole requirement for it. The fashion comes after that. A goth-dresser that isn't a goth music lover is simply not a goth. You've been recommended some good bands, I suggest you go with those. I have my own to recommend, though some more essential goth bands.
Joy Division (proto/early goth)
UK Decay
Theatre of Hate
Ausgang (all three deathrock)
Virgin Prunes (gothic artpunk)
Alien Sex Fiend (deathrock with an industrial/techno flair)
Also note that no real goth band has ever achieved mainstream success. Only the Sisters of Mercy have gotten even close. So any band you see in Rolling Stone magazine, or on Fuse or MTV is most definitely not goth. Only rarely does Hot Topic ever carry merchandise for a real goth band. Those bands you hear your friends calling "goth" are bands that are trying to make money off the fact that the goth look is really popular right now. I hope I've been of some help.

Psst, Joe! Don't delete your Marilyn Manson! Yeah, maybe he's not "goth," but that doesn't mean he's not good.
Don't reinvent yourself based on what you hear from people here. Take suggestions, but don't just blindly follow what people say. It's okay to like things that we don't.
(But do check out the suggested bands, cos they're definitely worth it!)

The Cure only achieved mainstream success when they stopped being goth. It's true, they left their post-punk roots behind for a more appealing emotional pop.

The Cure is still The Cure, though. Both their recent and older works are masterpieces.

I think so, too. On the mainstream thing, the Banshees, the Sisters, and Bauhaus are all fairly mainstream. Enough so that they're in most average record stores, and most people from around that time have heard them.

I'd really do something about the hair but first see if you like the goth culture, do your homework! It's not only the music (and I'd like to add Sentenced and maybe Type O negative to the list) or the clothes but it's also your view on things, it'sculture. And as for your parents, I had the same problem at home. First they laughed with me becoming goth then they told me I shouldn't wear so many black clothes, then I asked if I could dye my hair and they simply said... "no!". I didn't either, altho I love the goth style and really want to see my hair black I do respect my parents and if they don't want me to dye my hair now I won't. U can just let your hair grow for now and see what you like most later.
There's a lot of stuff to read here, so try to do that and further... Welcome! =)

I think I may be required, by law, to call you "G" from now on.
Anyways, I don't think a hawk would look too good for you. Maybe if you did something like "pineapple-head," which is where you grow the top long, and shave off the sides and back, and then use something like hair cream [not to be confused with hair gel], and make the hair you have stand up.
Like in Nitzer Ebb's video for "Control I'm Here"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp3qloP2W2Y
The 3 inches of hair I think you said you have should be sufficient for the top.

Or among their best, if that not be the truth. I love that song. Fall, fall, fall, fall down to the world. Jump, jump at a time. I'm listening to what right now!

well, the Cure, as far as I'm concerned, has greatly disappointed me. I truthfully only like their albums Pornography, Faith, Disintergration, and some of Bloodflowers. Their other work, with songs like "Show me" and "In between days" just sound like modern pop-rock songs including alluring beats and sensitive men. No offense, though.

Heyy, I like T-shirts with witty statements. And I like some old school rap too. So yay! Another person on the board who doesn't reject rap music outright based on the c'rap' they see on TV these days.

I have to admit that lately I've been very mad at Robear Smith. If he didn't want the Cure to be goth band then why did he play at the batcave in SoHo? If he was so concerned about the image why didn't he just go to the crappy brainwashing land of 80s pop mainstream bands like the Human League and Dead Or Alive? No, he did the smart thing for his darker audience, then he regrets it. Makes No Sense.

He just did his own thing, and if people called it goth, they did.
He can't control what people consider his music to be.
