Hi. I'm as British as tea.

Hey,

Well - i've been searching the internet in the brief periods between gigs and parties for a forum free from the scum us brits know as chavs to talk to other like minded people. This, obviously is my introduction thread.

My name is Joel, I am a 17 year old male from Bristol, which is in the South West of the United Kingdom. I am a generally happy bloke, I like mixing in black with really bright neon reds, greens and yellows. Naturally, I get a lot of people looking at me - never for the reasons I want them to.

When I'm reading you'll find me engulfed in a horror, fantasy or religious book - I like to read about certain religions before I write them out of my head, so to speak. I am a practiser of Paganism, in my own personalised form.

I am not the kind of person to go walking into trouble - but I sure as hell am the one to get out of it. I always have to watch as my mates walk through crowds of "gangstas" and usually walk out bleeding. In my spare time, I draw, Free Run, play on my electric guitar and game - that is when I am not at the skate park, unable to move from drinking too many spirits. I'm not one for Beer or Lager.

That should about cover it!
- Joel

Welcome!

What kind of paganism do you practice, and what kind of music do you like?

I'd like to point out the following: 茶不英國,您不區分的凝塊!

(might need chinese characters installed to read that.)

Wow, ok good point. I was having problems coming up with something british - that americans have heard of. As I said, my paganism form is customized, can vaguely be associated with Wicca. I listen to alot of random stuff, including:
Metallica, Slipknot, Basshunter, Tenacious D, Basement Jaxx, Lamb of God, Skid Row, Insane Clown Possie, Madcon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pendulum and The Darkness.

As you can see, I have a vast Musical range.

Most practitioners of paganism "customize".
Do you have a particular pantheon or god/dess you work with? Do you do ritual? See where I'm going with this?

Ah, I do.
I actually practise a very primitive form of Paganism when it comes to Gods, I focus on the Hunting God, and the Fertility Godess to help me achieve my goals. I meditate, and perform rituals/recipes to help me achieve something I am particularly stressed about.

1.Not random.. Crappy? yes, random? no. To each their own.

2. I would not call that list vast at all.

With those two aside, I still welcome you to Gnet.

Your taste in music is shit and hardly 'vast'. You seem to be a pretentious git. Welcome.

Now take your wooden idols and shove them up your 'arse'.

Wow, what a warm welcome. Fuck you.

If I'm honest, you shouldnt give a shit about someones musical tastes, because its what THEY like not YOU. I dont want to be a fucking clone, people like me for my individuality - if you don't like it, go slit your wrists in the fucking corner.

If you're looking to drive people away from Goth net your doing a great job.
Tell me where anywhere on the internet, in books or in society it says "GOTHS MUST LISTEN TO" and "GOTHS MUST NOT LISTEN TO" and I will happily listen to stuff I find crap and leave the music that chills me out behind.

This seems to be Emo Net rather than Gothic Net tbh.
Is it not acceptable to have friends in "normal" society, that love and respect me? Or should I just go and piss on my friends and tell them I'm not "allowed" to listen to their music.

Say Hi to Communist China everybody! Wow, I've got a great impression of people from:
Melbourne, Australia.
Manhattan, New York
Chicago, Illinois
"Thelema"
US

Someone needs to brush up on their people skills. No friends in real life? Now lets all have a councilling flamo and get more crap off of our chest. There is more to me than meets the eye, including a college education. So dont say I dont know my shit.

Dear Miss Lives Up To Her Name,

Your taste in music is radio mainstream crap and you have put yourself out there to have your ass kicked in with a bunch of trite self absorbed bullshit that was hardly interesting. This isn't emo.net, you are. You have to try pretty hard to get this kind of sour greeting around here but you seem to have found a way. My advice is that you apologize immediately or show yourself to the door.

Hoping you leave,
Mr. Filth

PS: You don't know your shit.

Darling, I do hope you donīt call yourself a goth. Youīre welcome to stay as long as you donīt. You see, goth is a musical subculture, which means that if you donīt listen to goth music, youīre not a goth. Itīs that simple. Why donīt you dig around a bit for the history of goth (a very interesting and well- informed site can be found at http://www.scathe.demon.co.uk/histgoth.htm) and give the bands mentioned there a shot? If you donīt like it, well, then youīre probably a nu/ heavy metal fan kid with an original taste in fashion. Kudos for that! Whatever floats your boat. But donīt go feed people the impression that "metal" bands = goth. Thatīs just so wrong on so many levels.

Hi. Im going to be different and welcome you to g.net respectfully. Im not really into your kind of music but so long as its not ghetto rat shit, i will tolerate it. And i like Metallica (ducks under table to avoid sharp gothic projectiles). I like paganism. Mainly because its more interesting to learn about all of the different gods and their attributes than Jesus and his antics. Also, FUCK WIGGERS AND CHAVS!

From start to end, that was one, long, non-conformist ego wank. Fuck off pagan, the power of Christ compels you.

A common misconception indeed. In truth, it is only a single step up the ladder of intellectual reasoning from painting "Hail Satan!!" on your satchell in Tippex.

Individuality? Motherfucker, I would have a harder time finding people NOT like you than people that are, individuality is wearing clogs on your elbows just because you like the way it looks, not listening to fucking Pendulum and thinking Wiccanism is like the total coolest. Go away.
