I once threw self-respect out the window and begged someone not to break up with me.... and we stayed together. Then I ended up hating him, and I broke up with him. The fact that the pain of being broken up with seemed unbearable, but when I was the one who was doing the dumping it didn't bother me at all, makes me think perhaps it was my ego that was wounded instead of my heart.... Ah, breaking up can hurt so terribly... I'd say give yourself a couple days to wallow in misery, then try and keep as busy as possible until someone else comes along. Ever seen the movie "Swingers", with Vince Vaughn and Heather Graham?

Having been in several relationships my take on the quote above is to agree, but point out it isn't always THAT easy.
Just move past the bits where you wonder what could've been, what you did wrong, etc as fast as possible.
Oh and if possible, start screwing a randomer, or a find a f* buddy. Helps xD
