Tongue rings? thoughts

I'll never get one. whenever i see pictures with girls sticking there tongues out, i feel icky inside.

I've known a few people to have it done. The problem that they told me that they had with the piercing is that it gets so easily infected, they had to take it out and get it re-done. I've also heard that if it is done right, and the piercer misses the nerves you don't feel anything but pressure.

I've been told kissing someone with a tongue piercing is really good, and also when receiving oral sex *shrug* Haven't dated anyone with one so I don't know.

And yeah, my sister got it done and she said it was the least painful piercing she has.

They look pretty cool, but I would probably never get one. The idea of always having something in my mouth makes me squeamish. Wouldn't it make it difficult to talk and eat?

I got my tongue pierced last month. It doesn't hurt to get it pierced at all, except for the clamps. The healing process isn't that bad either, it was nothing compared to when I got my lip done.

And Elysiume, it is difficult to talk and eat at first, since your tongue swells up quite a bit for a week or so, but that gets easier pretty fast.

I had my tongue pierced many years ago. It swelled up afterward and hurt like hell for a few days, I also ended up needing two fillings cos it knocked the enamel off my teeth.

On the up side I was told it was good for oral sex, but that wasn't the reason I had it done. Its also a fun thing to play with, you end up dragging it round your mouth.

I am quite glad its out now, I wouldn't have it done again. I believe its meant to have quite a low chance of getting infected as far as piercings go.

Least painful piercing I ever had. I took very good care of it, and it healed up very quickly. I've never chipped a tooth or messed up my teeth in anyway with it. I feel very odd without it in. I cannot wear plastic balls though, because I end up chewing on them and cracking them.

Personally I wouldn't mind getting as long as my parents or boyfriend found out cuz they'd kill but at first I though it was gross but now I don't mind

For me, the idea of a tongue piercing is in the same category as a tramp stamp. Don't ask me why I feel this way, but when I think of tongue rings I think of brohos and/or the types of girls who have long blond hair and pull their thongs up so they show even when one is casually standing around.

lol, I don't think that's true at all. Furthermore, they can be a bit dangerous for oral sex. I had mine pierced in 1992, and just took it out this past year at my husband's behest because of a painful oral sex mishap of which I will not go into any further detail.

Actually i have one and i done it cos i like the sensation...it was done ages ago and i dont like to show it off..when im at work i dont use it and sometimes spend weeks without putting it..well not advisable to everyone as some close after a week or less.. but as i have small teeth maybe thats why they got bit messed up...now just plastic..dont even know how i got it..have big panic of needles...even going to dentist..luck that always go after a night out and just crash and sleep it off during treatment..this last piercing is very special as bought it with my mamma last year...just something that makes me remember her...

I had mine pierced for about...8 hours..then I took it out because I had read some online horror stories about tongue piercings. I got my Mom to take it out. Ugh.

You can get six?
It was like that when I got my second ear lobe piercing, the guy doing it had about six piercings in just one ear, with a stretcher than looked about 7 or 8mm.

I had mine done, and besides the three days of swelling, it was totally painless. I have the pics during piercing on myspazz.
I love playing with it, and it keeps me from biting my nails.
