Deviant and Auriel's Discussion
Alright, ask away! I obviously don't have answers for everything, but I'll try.

Actually Corpsey...I should have been more specific in my OP, this is a conversation between me and Deviant about religion that I moved from the politics section...it didn't really seem to belong there. Feel free to participate if you like. It's basically going to be him asking me a series of questions.
And to answer your question...I like red and purple. My advice? Go with your mood! Lol

Why are so many people stuck on religion ? Shouldn't it be a dying fad by now, a bit like pokemon and yo-yos.

...why don't you two just go have your little "religion" debate on msn and then post the logs?

That's a terrible question, and a third rate perspective which everyone has heard a million times.
It's the line of argument that uneducated halfwits use when debating religion.

I'd be more than happy to. Unfortunately neither of us has the ability to PM. After all the shit I've taken on this board for one belief alone I'm not posting personal info like that. He doesn't want to either.

My beliefs are quite a bit different than most. Deviant asked me if he and I could talk a little more about them. It's only a "dying fad" for people who don't feel that it is as important as others do.

Yeah, I thought about that but when I looked it up in the FAQ, I saw that the Admins have to enable it. Not sure how to get that done. I don't think I've ever seen an Admin/Mod since I've been posting...which really hasn't been that long.

That's so stupid and overtly controlling; the mods must be proper control freaks of the most pettiest inclination if they can't even enable a basic function like PM to new people.

Yeah, the members list is disabled too...so even if I wanted to look up an Admin I couldn't.

Simply saying that doesn't make it anymore true jack.
Let's look at what we've got here - some third rate questioning regarding religion? You've thought about religion, a concept that has been with us for milleniums, for a whole 20 minutes and think you've come up with some interesting conclusions?
Ha.

If either of them understood the concept of an unverifiable opinion, you might have made a point.

True, the question was crap, I will grant you that, but I doubt you can come up with anything significantly more productive.
P.S. you misspelled millennia .

If there is anywhere you should debate religion it's the Politics forum.

No, they are NOT. This entitlement to beliefs is actually bullshit. Reason being? I BELIEVE gay people should have the ability to get married. I BELIEVE in choice instead of being pro-life.
But, you WILL exercise your choices in life that will affect ME and SEVERAL million people based soley on your beliefs.
Therefore, the entitlement to beliefs is mostly bullshit, especially when it determines weather I have to answer to you or not.

You clearly missed my post where I said I haven't voted since 2000 and I don't think that is likely going to change any time soon. Nothing of gay marriage has even been on the ballot in Michigan. Even if it were and in the unlikely event that I decided to vote (which some people don't grasp is only one), I would probably leave that blank because while I believe what I believe, it's not right to force that on others.
Furthermore it's not right to judge someone else because their beliefs are different either.

You can't take everything and relate it specifically to what you would do, there are a hell of a lot of people who BELIEVE that they must force their religious dogma upon others or else risk going to hell.

You are not intelligent.
Allow me to expound:
He didn't "clearly" miss anything. You did. Unless you're the only fundamentalist Christian with the right to vote, what you said above makes little sense. Not everything is directed at you. Kontan is upset because people (note--while you are a person, you are not a people) vote against things like gay marriage and ruin other people's lives instead of minding their own goddamned business.
No one is judging you because your beliefs are different. NO ONE. People are saying your beliefs are wrong and cause you to put constraints on the lives of others.
