Nox Arcana

I love these guys!
My favorite songs are "Lullaby", "Darkly Everafter", and "Music Box".

What about you guys?

Remnants is my favorite ... it reminds me of Lestat in fact all their songs remind me either of Interview with the Vampire or Edgar Allan Poe's work

It's boring, formulaic, "I think I'm a vampire" crap.

I don't hate you. Saying I hate you would be like saying I hate a dog with no legs trying to cross a busy freeway.

Listen to all of their albums and you'll see that each one has a theme. They haven't got "I think I'm a vampire" crap as you say. And the harpsichord just reminds you of the late 1700's and 1800's, the period in which many novelists present their vampire characters. Sheesh!

Actually they do have a "I think I'm a vampire" album. It's named Transylvania. The rest of it is highly varied (by album, individual songs on the same album are, unfortunately, similar) ranging from pirate songs to christmas music.

I'm perfectly aware of all their albums and just because they've picked "Transilvania", a romanian region, as a theme for the album "Transylvania" doesn't mean they're all obsessed on it. I was just saying that their albums are not "I think I'm a vampire" crap.

Even discounting the vampires, they're still nothing original or special as far as dark ambient music goes.

They are enjoyable from time to time, but they are very repetitive. I agree that it is mostly formulaic.

Just a question, (I'm not defending anyone here, I couldn't care less) which band isn't?

Check that out.

And if you want something completely different:

The album review pretty much sums it up.
